Invader Troop Transports
These transports can carry up to five infantry units, have a laser gun, and, like all hover vehicles, are capable of travelling over water and swampy territory.
Vulnerabilities
Their laser gun gives them some offensive ability, but don't expect to take out a Triple Rail Hover Tank with your Troop Transports. Avoid direct confrontations unless you intend to use your Troop Transports as decoys.
How to Get the Most out of Invader Troop Transports
Invader Troop Transports do an adequate job of transporting infantry units while protecting them at the same time. It'll be a lot easier for you to get infantry through enemy territory if you load it up on a Troop Transport. Use them to safely transport infantry, but don't knowingly send them into combat. Troop Transports, like Freighters, are quite useful at drawing enemy fire away from your other units and therefore make effective decoys (of course, you could just use decoy units for this purpose). The limited offensive ability of Invader Troop Transports does occasionally come in handy in a pinch, however, especially during the early phases of a level when you don't have enough units generated to hold off an enemy assault.
