Freedom Guard Strategy
Go north slowly, concentrating your fire on any Imperium units you see. You'll see some units you can recruit just north of you at two separate locations (it's nice the way the Imperium keeps your Freedom Guard tanks gassed up, armed, and ready for action!). Use your ability to heal your units to avoid any losses, and when you reach the top of the map, turn east. At the center of the top of the map, near the Taelon and freshwater spring, establish your base.
Build a few turrets to the south of your base to prevent an Imperium invasion. As soon as possible, establish Water Launch Pads near the freshwater springs to the east and west of your base. Use the range of your Skirmish Tanks to take out any turrets you encounter, and build your own turrets in the narrow approach routes to protect your Water Launch Pads. Build up a strong force and head south along the right-hand side of the map until you reach the bottom of the map. Destroy the turrets protecting the south entrance to the Imperium base, and establish a bridgehead to cut the Imperium off from the last freshwater spring.
Having cut off the Imperium from all of the freshwater springs, you can begin destroying the rest of its base. Don't let any of the prisoners out (especially Radec) until you are sure you have cleared an escape route of any enemy units and turrets.
