Freedom Guard Strategy
This mission is relatively easy compared with the last couple and what's to come. Immediately build a number of Construction Rigs, and use them to build Laser Turrets along the edge of the cliff, which runs along the road into your base. Make sure you build them right on the edge of the cliff so that they can fire on the units below. Build a couple of Air Defense Sites nearby, as well. Your biggest problem in this mission is a lack of credits - you're always going to be dependent solely on your single freshwater spring. That said, don't skimp on the turrets or Air Defense Units.
The Imperium forces will gather around the Taelon deposit up the road from your base, but don't try to fight them for it, as you can't survive a war of attrition. Instead, build a few scouts and morph them to keep an eye on the enemy forces. Now start building Hellstorm Artillery in quantity. Rely on your turrets and artillery to fend off enemy attacks. When you're not busy defending, start attacking the Imperium units near the Taelon deposit with your artillery. You should be able to annihilate the Imperium forces through bombardment or by forcing them to charge your turret wall. Build a few Sky Bikes to scout out the enemy base and to ward off approaching Sky Fortresses. With your scouts surrounding the enemy base, assemble your artillery with an escort of Flak Jacks (at least five or six of them) and Triple Rail Hover Tanks, and begin taking out the Neutron Accelerators. Put the Flak Jacks in front of your artillery to prevent Imperium air units from attacking your artillery. You can use your tanks to attack the Imperium base, as well, retreating behind the Flak Jacks when attacked by air units. Notwithstanding the mission objectives, which advocate an aerial assault, it's amazing how quickly a dozen Hellstorm Artillery units can wipe out an enemy base.
