Freedom Guard Unit Descriptions and Strategies:
Snipers

screenshot An excellent attack range and the ability to morph into inanimate objects make snipers very powerful units. Although their attack is far more effective against enemy infantry than it is against armored units or buildings, the extensive range of a sniper's attack makes it useful in a variety of circumstances.

Vulnerabilities
Like all Freedom Guard infantry, snipers are vulnerable to Imperium Shredders, if caught in the open. Although a sniper's ability to morph allows it to avoid detection while motionless, attacking an enemy or moving while within an enemy's visual range will make a sniper susceptible to attack. A sniper's attack is deadly against enemy infantry, but significantly less effective against armored units.

How to Get the Most out of Snipers
Like scouts with teeth, is an apt description. Although snipers don't have quite the visual range of scouts, their range is still long enough to allow them to attack enemy infantry and buildings (don't try this trick against Neutron Accelerators) without provoking a counterattack. Snipers can also do a great deal of damage while morphed in no-man's-land (between your base and your enemy's base), essentially eliminating any infantry that might wander within range. (Be careful to avoid directly attacking enemy armored units while out in the open, however.) Snipers are actually quite good at taking out enemy plasma turrets and can, while morphed, effectively protect a fresh water deposit while attacking enemy Freighters and lingering enemy units.
