Freedom Guard Unit Descriptions and Strategies:
Hellstorm Artillery

screenshot These are simply the most powerful units available to you on an ongoing basis, due to their incredible range and powerful punch.

Vulnerabilities
These very slow units won't stand a chance if they get caught out in the open without escorts. Once you march out of the protection of your base to start attacking your enemies, make sure you take along an escort capable of responding to both ground and air threats.

How to Get the Most out of Hellstorm Artillery
Assemble a large group of Hellstorm Artillery as soon as possible (at least six to seven of them). You'll be extremely difficult to attack with them and a decent turret wall. But don't get too complacent. Send out scouts, snipers, and air units to extend your attack to the enemy's base and units. Once a scouting unit has an enemy building or unit in its line of sight, start shelling it - nothing can stand up to a concentrated attack of artillery fire for very long. Use the long-distance line of sight of your scouts to take out the Imperium Neutron Accelerators, which are the greatest threat to a ground assault on an Imperium base. Don't overlook any opportunities to lob a few shells into a group of massed infantry, either.

On the defensive side, a group of Hellstorm Artillery isn't quite as helpless as it might appear, as it can annihilate a poorly thought-out ground attack quickly by turning its guns on the would-be attackers. Keeping a mechanic or two around is also useful to help keep the Hellstorm Artillery alive. Put a few Air Defense Units, like Flak Jacks, a bit out in front of your Hellstorm Artillery to prevent attacks from Sky Fortresses, which can take out a group of massed artillery quickly.
