Freedom Guard Unit Descriptions and Strategies:
Sky Bikes and Outriders
These are the two air units available to the Freedom Guard. Sky Bikes are smaller fighter-bombers, capable of attacking any type of unit or building, while Outriders can only attack ground targets, doing considerably more damage than Sky Bikes.
Vulnerabilities
Both Sky Bikes and Outriders are vulnerable to Bions, Air Defense Sites, Plasma Turrets, Mobile Air Defense Units, and Cyclones. That's a pretty formidable list of enemies. Never try to attack either Air Defense Sites or Mobile Air Defense Units regardless of how many air units you have, unless you're prepared to take heavy losses. There are far better ways to attack Air Defense Units. Sky Bikes should also not go toe-to-toe against Imperium Cyclones either, unless they outnumber the Cyclones.
How to Get the Most out of Sky Bikes and Outriders
Both of these units are most effective when grouped with a large number of their friends. A squadron of Sky Bikes can quickly respond to threats from Imperium Sky Fortresses and Cyclones attacking your ground units. A Sky Bike escort for your Outriders is also a good idea. Both types of air units also make good scouts and artillery spotters, although you should be watchful of patrolling Bions. If you leave a few air units to act as scouts and don't keep track of them, chances are that Bions will find them and destroy them. Unfortunately, your units won't defend themselves either.
Make effective use of the "gather" command (hit the End key) so that units exiting your rearming decks will move back into a more useful position. Always use the "paths" command when moving your air units around an enemy position - if you forget to do so, rest assured that your Sky Bikes will decide that cutting across that field of Air Defense Sites seems like a good idea.
