Freedom Guard Unit Descriptions and Strategies:
Rapid Armored Transports
These units are capable of transporting up to five infantry units at once. The natural color of the RAT gives it some camouflage protection, since RATs are weaponless.
Vulnerabilities
Defenseless against any form of attack, RATs can at least take more than their share of damage. Although RATs can move over swamps and terrain normally not accessible by other Freedom Guard ground forces (other than Triple Rail Hover Tanks), they do so at incredibly slow speeds. Don't send them in alone unless you use them as decoys.
How to Get the Most out of Rapid Armored Transports
Rapid Armored Transports do an adequate job of transporting infantry units, while protecting them at the same time. It's therefore a lot easier to get infantry through enemy territory if you load it up on a RAT first. But run into a Tachion Tank group or a Neutron Accelerator, and your infantry will be vaporized along with the RAT before you can react. Use them to safely transport infantry, but don't intentionally send them into combat. RATs, like Freighters, are quite useful at drawing enemy fire away from your other units and therefore make effective decoys.
