Freedom Guard Unit Descriptions and Strategies:
Tank Hunters
Might as well call these guys Tachion Tank Hunters because it's their most useful purpose. Tank Hunters have a powerful attack, especially against armored units and buildings, but their limited range means they have to get up close and dirty prior to utilizing their formidable attack capabilities.
Disadvantages
The limited range of the Tank Hunters is a real disadvantage. They'll usually be hit a couple of times before they can get their own first licks in. Because they have to move up close to attack, they are also commonly overwhelmed by an enemy's second wave of attackers.
How to Get the Most out of Tank Hunters
Tank Hunters are generally best off being kept in reserve until the Imperium launches its initial attack and commits its forces. Once the Imperium forces are otherwise engaged, your Tank Hunters can sweep in and inflict devastating casualties. Tank Hunters are also very good at making short work out of enemy structures - if you want to take out a building quickly before enemy reinforcements arrive, send in a Saboteur or Martyr and then the Tank Hunters. Tank Hunters do well against Tachion Tanks, which is a notable attribute early in the campaign prior to Triple Rail Hover Tanks being available.
