MAGIC [page 4 of 6]

There are four kinds of magic: bright, dark, Waaagh, and ice. Bright magic is fire magic (fireballs and flame storms), ice magic is all about bringing down cold and ice, dark magic has all four types combined into one great swirling mess of destructive and potent magic, and Waaagh magic uses the combined energy and euphoria of goblins and orcs to cast spells. Each kind of magic has a dispel spell, but other than that the spells vary widely from magic type to magic type. Here's an example of each:

Bright magic:
screenshot Conflagration of Doom: Don't look up, but... a flaming meteor hangs in midair just above enemy troops. The sight of it alone is enough to make smart troops run away. Everything in the nearby vicinity is destroyed when this puppy comes down.

Dark magic:
screenshot Soul Drain: The dark mage who casts this spell finds himself in the enviable position of being able to suck up enemy soul energy and use it to heal and revitalize his own soul. The mage casts the spell on a single creature, but everyone who is near feels the drain.

Waaagh magic:
screenshot Gaze of Mork: This spell afflicts everyone in its path. It causes severe internal wounds and serious mental damage. It also has a good range, so its path is large and its destruction intimidating.

Ice magic:
screenshot Ice Shards: It's a ranged attack and relatively short at that but really effective when used properly. Ice shards are flung by the mage at enemies, and they pierce armor, pierce defensive, and pierce bodies - then freeze up and shatter their hosts.
