These large, obvious structures sport either a
lightning bolt or red cross insignia to designate their
purpose. These vital, life-giving containment fields can
restore you to proper working conditions in a matter of
moments. Just watch where you're shooting in their
presence, as these delicate technological marvels can be
easily destroyed. These small, green steel containers are located
throughout the base and are never locked, so their
contents are yours for the keeping. However, take heed
not to damage these lockers; if you bend them out of
shape, you have no hopes of claiming any goods within. Because you are a trained engineer and electrician,
you are encouraged to interact with every computer
terminal, switch, and switch box you encounter. Most of
these will open a door elsewhere, operate an elevator, or
disable some sort of nearby defense. Sometimes, a
computer terminal will relinquish the power of a nearby
servomech into your capable hands. Learn to identify
these terminals, and operate them whenever the coast is
clear. Small, colored discs mounted on walls can be fired
upon by conventional artillery in order to trigger some
sort of effect. Target panels change from red to blue as
they are toggled. If no switches or terminals seem to be
present, scour the walls carefully for target panels.
They are rare for purposes of practicality, but they do
exist. Suspect any large, rectangular structure of holding
some sort of useful contents. Do not hesitate to fire
upon such structures. Unlike footlockers, when boxes or
storage chambers are destroyed their contents remain
undamaged.
