When we first looked at the comparison screenshots, we had to double check to make sure we had an identical 1 p.m. game time and clear-skies weather settings for both systems since the fields appeared very different. We booted up the game again and confirmed that the stadium wasn't casting any shadows on the field in the PlayStation 3 version. [Update: We just checked Madden 07 again. The 4:15 p.m. setting produces on-field shadows in the PS3 version.] The Xbox 360 had sharper textures on the character models in the close-up shots shown between plays. You can actually see the jersey material and the Reebok logo on the player in the Xbox 360 shot. One GameSpot editor did note that the PS3 jerseys looked better than the 360's while players were in motion.

    I Don't have consoles which i want to buy one and i don't know which one better X-BOX Or play station , since long time i love PC and i have Powerful PC and so much better graphics than consoles but the problem is some games is not release on PC which makes me want to buy consoles for that matter , but in my Opinion PC number one in performance and graphics and sure better control ,for example call of duty you think you can play with x-box or play station controller or more easier and more fun to play with keyboard and mouse

    I own both systems, and I'd say that the opinion on which is better differs from man to man. Each console has it's advantages. The PS3 can play bluray cds, it has free multiplayer, but the x360 has a better gamepad, better grip, well made triggers etc. I love the xbox, but I would go with the ps3. Gears of War 3 is about as good as it gets considering the graphics, and I still think that Uncharted 3 will look better. The xbox360 reached it's maximum, but PS3 hasn't yet. We'll see in the future until they release next gen consoles.

    this is a war between ps3 and xbox 360 people not pc so stop saying pc is better because no body is dumb to think console can win against pc so u don't of to keep reminding people that and by the way not everybody can afford a good gaming pc so keep ur pc preference to urself

    The PS3 Cell has 1 PPE and 6 available SPE's, 1 dedicated SPE for OS security and 1 spare SPE that they write off as dead. The ninth core is only there to increase the number of usable chips manufactured. The PS3 has 256 MB of XDR Ram dedicated to the CPU and 256 MB GDDR3 RAM dedicated to the GPU.
    The 360 Xenon is a Triple core Power PC chip with all 3 cores capable of simultaneous multi-threading. The 360 shares its 512 MB GDDR3 RAM between the CPU and GPU.
    Both the 360 and PS3 CPU's are functionally clocked at 3.2 GHz and both system's GPU's are functionally clocked at 1.4 GHz.

    That straight enough?

    its really
    ps3 is power full console in all time you can see this power in uncharted 2 gow 3 and very great games
    but game maker is easy to make game in xbox 360 because xbox hardware like pentium 5 and pc sony wins graphic war

    These arguments always make me laugh. I have both systems, and it's always game specific as to which console "looks" better. They both rule. Besides, all but the most hard core graphics lovers will even notice the slight variations in the two, and chances are, if you fall into that category, you probably play on a PC. For me, I like the Xbox for my shooters, the PS3 for most RPG's, and it's toss up for Action Adventure games. If I had to choose one system too keep, it would likely be the Xbox for the very simple fact that I like the controller better.

    PS3 is better than xbox360 in every way,but xbox is good,Some games look nice on one console and some of the other but I love Playstation,I have to stand on his side.

    I think it's just silly that people are still arguing about this. The ps3 will be a bit better because it came out more recently, but the xbox 360 is still a great system. It's all a preference of what you want to play. If you like halo go xbox, if you like some game that's a ps3 exclusive, then get the ps3. If you want to play the games with the BEST graphics, buy a pc

    What people fail to recognize is that in most cases the XBox 360 and the Playstation 3 graphics are about the same. That's because the developers have each console render the exact same data. However, in the case that the XBox 360 had reached it's limit the Playstation 3 would still be capable of carrying on. Yes, I know, that's what she said (in the third person?).

    Graffics are basically the same. If you look at newer games like Need for speed, then yeah graffics are better on ps3. BUt cod 3 and old games, looks better on xbox since it had a better head start. Also, those games looked better witha darker shade... so yeah, stop argueing, both win and lose xP

    I think people might be getting confused or something. The image that these pics change to AFTER the mouse over are the PS3. You know, the ones with the smooth, more detailed graphics. The 360 doesn't compare.

    The Xbox 360 is nothing close to a piece of crap in comparison to the PS3. The differences aren't very drastic. I do agree that the PS3 has the technical advantage, but most will probably agree that games on the 360 play better while also looking better. In the end, I find that games have really dictated the champion of these two systems, not the specs.

    I came in thinking the ps3 had better graphics, but not after seeing this.
    I'm not being biased at all, as i said before i was expecting the ps3 to "win", but the 360, from what ive seen above has the better graphics.

    Googiebrothers... There's no denying that the PS3 has some good games and good graphics. It's funny, these graphics comparisons are always a bit of a hit and miss. Generally speaking though, the 360 tends to come out on top, and whilst you mention the techinical aspect. The 360 has a better CPU than the PS3, yet the PS3 has a better GPU.... I can't say why the 360 has the upper hand, maybe it's cos it's windows based and easier to programme on and developers are still learning to really get the most out of the PS3.

    i find it funny how it is obvious which is better, and obviously has more power than a 360, and people still do their fanboy thing and say 360 is better. On a technical level, 360 is a peice of crap compared to PS3.

    jeasus man...everybody around here says that whatever system they have rules or whatsoever...this is just about the graphics, and xbox looks better. each system has its own advantages.like free multiplayer on ps3

    PS3 uses Blu-Ray graphics so it definitely looks better. Microsoft's HD DVD movies were canceled because Blu-Ray was more popular.

    @EPhoenix17 i've hated that fact since i heard about it. why do they do this?!?! the ps3 is amazing, and everyone seems to agree it has the better graphic engine, so why must we suffer at the faults of the xbox? i just dont understand.

    maybe its easier on them, making it i mean. but its just not fair. we need more ps3 exlusives then. people want good graphics and the ps3 can give it to them if only the developers would allow it.

    Um actually, I've looked at both and I'd have to say the ps3 is a little better, and if you look carefully you can see that the ps3 is being tested on a different resolution too so not very acurate but from the pics given the ps3 has more fluid graphics. In the 360 version the fog texture is glitching and looks horrid.
    With that note, ps3 is a more powerful console hands down ask anyone. 360 simply has the seemingly better gaming library and a pre-existing fan base.
    Ps3 actually does have more than 3 times the exclusives and has alot better games you just never here about em

    Yes PS3 appear to have more lighting, but more lighting shows the absent of AA in console games. Anyway everybody knows that Xbox version of a multiplatform is better than the ps3, cause game developer are more familiar with a game that uses 15-30 % of CPU and 70-85 % of GPU just as like as PC game's. The deal with PS3 is that exclusive games use more the CELL than the RSX cause the GPU of PS3 is there only to back the CELL who does the most. Developers don't want to waste time and mony to optimize a multiplatform game just for PS3. For me the real comparasion is between the exclusive games on each console. The real comparasion is between MGS4, Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, GOW3, GT5 AND GearsOfWar 2, Allan wake, Halo series, Forza 3. Me I have both console, for multiplatrorme I choose XBOX or My PC.

    The developers are using the 360 to make the games, then the convert it to PS3. Thats why the Xbox 360 version looks better. If the Developers made them on the PS3, damn the graphics would be way better.
