There’s nothing overtly complicated about the initial stages of this level; you’ve just got a whole lot of enemies to kill, and they’ll be coming at you in large groups. When you reach the first lift, activate it and start to ride it down, but be ready for the Stroggs to start busting through the windows and dropping down to meet you. Be ready with something like a hyperblaster or your lightning gun to make quick work of them before they destroy you.
Unfortunately, when you reach the bottom of the lift, you’ll be hit again by two Banshees and a Gladiator. As soon as it hits rock bottom, jump off the lift and head down the stairs on the opposite side of the Gladiator to get some ammo and armor, then use whatever means necessary to kill your enemies, which is the only way to open the door here. As soon as you exit through the door, though, a Parasite will appear, so you may want to have a DMG round ready to go to destroy the teleport beacons before it can launch them.
To reach the elevator, you’ll need to fight your way past a teleport system that can’t be shut down, and never seems to stop shunting in more Stroggified Marines. Luckily, nothing heavier will pop out, but you should still try to preserve as much health and armor through these fights as you can, because you’re going to need as much of it as you can get very shortly.

Surviving this little torture pit will require an awful lot of dodging.
When you reach the elevator, head inside; after the ride is over, you’ll be launched into a fight with a Gladiator and a couple of Marines. Killing them will spawn in a Banshee, but after she’s dead, you still can’t seem to escape the room. Luckily, the Banshee knocked out a few floorboards when she appeared, allowing you to drop down to the pipes below the room. Fight your way to the security control station, deactivate the security, then return to the elevator room to move on through the unlocked door.
Immediately beyond this door, you’ll come to what is obviously a bit of an abattoir from the looks of it. It’s worse than you might guess, though: first you’ll have to fight off three Enforcers, then three Icari, then two Tanks. Lovely! We recommend that you use your shotgun or hyperblaster on the Enforcers while backing away from them, the lightning gun on the Icari, and your DMG or railgun on the Tanks. There are ammo and health pickups in the area, so as long as you can use the pillars scattered around the room to your advantage, you should be able to survive long enough to kill the defenders here.
You’ll have some pipejumping to do to get beyond the next room here, but there’s always a path leading on; your ultimate goal is the platform at the top of the room. When you get through the corridor filled with railgun Marines, you’ll come to another data storage facility, where yet another large ambush awaits you. At least these guys have the decency to pop out of the same door, all at once, allowing you to DMG them, then follow up with rockets or your railgun. Also note that if you drop down near the ladder by the door you enter, you can crawl your way to a Large Armor Vest.
