At GameSpot we talk about a lot of games, and we play a lot of games. However, there are some games that we never talk about, even in our more personal Question of the Week columns. In fact, they're usually the kind of games a self-respecting game player wouldn't play, at least in front of peers or friends. Some of the games might be really old and have graphics or sound that are terrible by today's standard, but they remain favorites for their great gameplay and unique character, as well as for nostalgic reasons. Perhaps such games are the strongest ties to other memories or past moments that are fond to remember. Other games that don't get any attention might be poorly received games--they're quite bad, and nobody would publicly admit to liking to them, but they're almost like B movies that are so bad they're fun to watch. While most players wouldn't admit to playing these uncool games or play them with anyone, they secretly indulge in them. Some games even become bad habits. Whether it's a genre, a specific theme or content, or unusual gameplay, these games are eerily irresistible and fun to play.
This week the editors are going public with the games they love to secretly play, and guilty or not, we're not making any apologies.
