FEAR 2 Reborn is a must-have for fans of the FEAR games!

Well, let me start off by saying that I have this DLC on PC and not 360, but there isn't a review on the PC version of the DLC, so I decided to put it here.

I think that the review of a 6 is a little ridiculous. If anything, this improved the gameplay in a few areas as opposed to the main release, which I also think should've gotten higher than a 7....but, I digress.

SPOILERS WITHIN!

Playing as a Replica, specifically Replica Foxtrot 813, is a novel idea that had been tossed around by many of us on the official FEAR forums. You start off as part of an orbital drop in your EPA (mech suit) and begin to tear ass in that, unless of course you want to go on foot and get the Foot Soldier achievement/award thing. During your battle on your rooftop landing pad there will be F-22's, supposedly under control of the ATC, that will be coming bombarding the area in addition to UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters that you can down with the chainguns on the EPA. There are several AI types here at once - Heavies with missile launchers, Black Ops with little armor and SMGs and standard ATC with assault rifles, and they have accomplished in delivering a more varied AI composition during combat.

Now, I don't want to give away the entirety of the DLC, but there's a lot of Fettel and a lot of awesomeness. The environments are varied a lot more and seem like they were affected heavily by the explosion. They also give you more choices on how to engage the AI in the battles. There's a part where you're out on a highway and you can choose to use the (bad ass) sniper rifle and engage the enemy from afar or use an emplaced turret and nail them with HE rounds.

The DLC broadens the scope of the FEAR franchise and adds a lot to it. The environments and the inclusion of Little Alma do come off as fan service, but being a fan, I enjoyed the service!

If you have FEAR 2 and liked it, this is a must buy. It's pretty awesome. They've changed the HUD interface to replicate that of a Replica and it's pretty damned cool. The DLC is pretty much just full of win!
