In an age where side scrolling was fun, but RPG's were risky, Faxanadu pulls through to make it's mark

If you like RPG's you'd like this game, if you liked classic Mario or side scrolling Castlevania, you might like this as well. This was a combination of two elements in a sense, story with fights similar to Zelda II but not as morbid and sad looking.

This game has plenty to offer from sidequests to levels that will confuse you but the victory is oh so sweet when you pass one. There's plenty of hidden items as well as potions and magic you can buy. Customization of armor from helemt to boots. special items, all the good stuff is here. When buying price price varies from town to town just as much as RPG's do nowadays.

This game is long and challenging if you are actually trying to beat it, good luck. I did but it took awhile, I guess because I was a kid though.

Backgrounds are cool for back then and sound not so bad but it's really buying items and weapons that make you feel accomplishment.

This game is classic and in the NES era one of the best of it's kind. It might even have been said to be better then classic Castlevania, the story's not as catchy as a Dracula one but this game is right up there in rank.
