A "book" that I can hardly put down!
This Visual Novel thrusts you into the role of a young man named Emiya Shirou who was saved from a horrible fire 10 years prior to the story by a magus named Emiya Kiritsugu, who adopted Shirou as his own child after his parents died in said fire. Many events followed and Shirou is unknowingly thrown into a war that has been raging on for centuries known as the Holy Grail War (and this happens to be the fifth). In this war, each participating magus gains what is known as a "Servant" to fight for them to gain the Holy Grail, which is known to grant any wish asked of it.
Many interesting characters flood this Visual Novel such as Saber, Tohsaka Rin, Illiasveil von Einzbern, and Kotomine Kirei. I'm not spoiling you on who these people are, so you have to read it to find out for yourself.
This Visual Novel comes with not just one story to follow, but three storylines that are separate from each other, allowing you hours of intense reading! Though, if you haven't played a Visual Novel before, I'll give you some relief and tell you that it's more or less like a comic book.
Unfortunately, it's Japan-exclusive. So, for all of us English players out there, Mirror-Moon has been kind enough to create an English patch for Fate/Stay Night. AND, if some people have the PS2 version of Fate/Stay Night (which is called Realta Nua), this patch can extract the voices from it and put them into your PC copy.
And if you're really skeptical about enjoying this Visual Novel, then watch the anime first, as I did, and if you love it, then read this Visual Novel to your heart's content!
Though, I am a little put off with the small amount of hentai content that's in the Visual Novel. But, if this doesn't phase you and you love a great fantasy story involving loads of action and some romantic elements thrown into the mix, then Fate/Stay Night is the Visual Novel for you!
