A dream come true for farm enthusiasts. Not meant for the city folk.

This in depth farming game is a real Jem. However, it is not without its problems. And there are many of them.

Farming Simulator 2013 comes from across the pond. I grew up on a Canadian farm, and even with my personal farming knowledge there was a steep learning curve.

In this game you start on a Large farm, with many property pieces, including your own silos, sheds, fuel tank, seed bags, and fertilizer. You start with three tractors, one combine, one tipper (grain trailer), plow, cultivator, and one sower (planter) as well as one small field.

The negative part of the game hits you right in the start, you are in debt, by a very large sum.

You gain money by harvesting your crops and selling them at different areas across the map. You will cultivate, plant, and harvest your crop usually in a 24 hour growth cycle. This is the first part that is very unrealistic. As in most farms the growth cycle is about a year.

The money you collect can be spent on paying off the bank, many different types of new equipment, more fields, live stock, and construction of different types of green houses, and renewable energy. All of which give a decent return on your investment (except , chickens).

Giants Software, the makers of the game also released a modding package the same day as the release. Within a week i was able to download many mods, of equipment and vehicles that were not featured in the original release.

The bugs come into play when moving around the map in vehicles, usually bumping into objects will make your vehicle somersault in the air, or other weird things.

Another bug, which is most annoying, is a very poor tutorial, which makes this game only marketable to farmers, and those who have farming knowledge.

But with trial and error, and online forums to help, this game is the best simulator i have played in many years.

Within the first month, i put over 100 hours in, as well as working full time in real life.

I rate it a 8 out of ten, and i will be waiting impatiently for the Xbox 360 release in March 2013.
