Far Cry Instincts is a stunning technical accomplishment for the Xbox. The multiplayer, and the map editor are amazing.
Speaking of which, the map editor in this game is insane. The best I have seen on the Xbox. Compared to the one in Tony Hawk Underground, this map editor is on another (much higher) level.
Even my brother is hooked on making new maps. That is amazing because he doesnt even like these types of games. We spent at least 4 hours on making jsut one amazing map called "Booty Isles".
As I was saying, the map editor is great. The multiplayer is also just as good. You can play both split screen or xbox live; but, there is no co-op(bumer). Still, the split screen is great. The maps are great, and the addition of vehicle makes the gameplay very interesting and fun to play. One of my favorite maps is called "Mercy Creek".
Lastly, the single player campaign mode is also quite decent. The story is typical (macho guy gets stuck on island, girl screws him over, he is hunted, he runs to save his life, later on evolving into a predator that runs to kill life). I found the name "Jack" Carver as maybe being a reference to Jack from the book Lord of the Flies.
The graphics are the best on the Xbox...with the water effects being one of the best I have seen in a while (Half-Life 2 has just as good). The gameplay is pretty strait forward - run&gun. The sound is above average. The environments sound great, but I really didnt like the fact that the game didnt have a great soundtrack to listen to while sneaking around.
Overall, Far Cry Instincts is great, and it should not be missed by anyone who has an Xbox.
