Had this game for 5 years now and I always go back to playing it, it was really graphically ahead of it's time.
I found some of the dialog between the various mercs to be extreamly funny and some of Doyles comments to be redundant, the arms were pretty good and the (barrett) rifle was a lot of fun to shoot. The largest drawback for me was the lack of wear and the innability to make repairs to equipment such as buggys and trucks.
The tracking ability of the binocs was kind of over the top and really gave me too much of an advantage, while the (night vision) worked well enough I still found it impractical most of the time in the jungle because it highlighted the plants too much.
The update allows us to save at any place and find our stored arms where we left them which is way better than the original, I like to start a new section with a full loadout and full armor and health. by being able to stockpile weapons and thereby ammo it makes it lots easier to engage in a long firefight and remain in a covered position. My biggest dig is throwing a rock allowes you to bring your enemies to an open spot where you can gun them down one after another rather than them figuring it out. Peace out!
