A game that would be cool 10 years ago but does not fit in todays gaming environment anymore.

First of all I'm very glad I bought this game for only 10 Euro and I advice everybody else, who are still thinking of buying this game, to do the same.

Now this game has been released for a while and playing this after playing Fallout 4 is quite a step backwards however taking away the Fallout 4 experience and purely focus on Far Cry 4 itself still left me with quite some disappointment.

It really felt like I was playing a game 10 years back in time. How bored I got pretty soon already. Repeat, repeat, repeat. The few missions I did play felt very similar and 'rusty'. The repetitive sound effects, especially those characters whining for help, just annoyed the hell out of me and even though the world is pretty large, I still felt like I was in the same environment whether I walked around for just 10 minutes or for one whole hour. It's just felt the same, over and over again.

Then those highly annoying predators out there. Especially those eagles. Wtf!? Really? The fact that you need so much shots in order to kill a predator, next to them moving way too fast, makes the overall Rambo-survival experience pretty frustrating. And I wanna be Rambo! Without the sweatband then of course ;)

I tried hard to get into the game and was hoping that the skills and weapon upgrades would keep my attention somewhat but also this was just not strong enough to keep my attention.

I love open-world games and I've played some very good ones and I understand that often it requires repetitive missions to "fill up" the game somewhat however I do believe with a lill more creativity and hereby adding some new aspects to a game CAN create a better gaming experience without this overwhelming repetitiveness on so many levels.

A gaming aspect that I really bind to Ubisoft cos that really IS their number one expertise, repetitiveness. Just look at the Assassin Creed franchise. You simply change a mosque into a cathedral, Venice into Paris or London et voila, ... there's your new Ubisoft game. It really is time for Ubisoft to change this development and I sincerely hope their new 'Snowdrop engine' will do just that.

For now, looking forward to play Dying Light's The Following next :)
