A Gamescom 2012 trailer for Far Cry 3 that's fittingly in German.
This is the co-op trailer fro Far Cry 3 for anyone who is confused. They have created 4 characters especially for the co-op campaign for Far Cry 3 that has its own separate story from the main one where several college kids get stranded on the island. This is a great bonus for those who enjoy co-op play.
I like that it LOOKS like Far Cry (the Crytek PC original) but all that phsychological thriller stuff seems gone. The graphics also look like they've taken a downgrade in the past year or two.
WTF happened to the whole "College kids strandedon an islad" plot hat we've been told about for the past year??!!! Who the fuck are THESE guys???!! And a "Tisha"??? REALLY???!!! What the fuuuuuuuuuuuuck!!!! Give me a fucking BREAK!
this game just keeps getting more and more awesome..this coop campaign reminds me of The darkness 2 coop.
So there is two campaigns? A Single player campaign and a multiplayer campaign? Is the multiplayer campaign different from the single player's or is it the same campaign just with 4 people?
@JustinFroese Yes there is 2 separate campaigns, a co-op and single player (SP). The SP campaign follows Jason (forgot his seconds name) through his journey and discovery (and eventual madness). the co-op campaign follows 4 members of, I believe Vaas' group who were betrayed when taking some diamonds, and so they want revenge and follow the trail to get the diamonds (both are something along those lines) and both of the stories link into each other (not directly if I understood right). But they are separate. Personally I think the co-op seams like a tag on, and not needed but will be fun none the less, as Ubi are massive I'm sure dev resources have not been used up and the SP will not suffer.
@SpazldNinjaDude Thanks. Guess I'll get this on PS3 then.
@JustinFroese Well they said at some point exclusive for Xbox on a multiplat game, they always say it, but I just don't get how they can make co-op exclusive, because it just reinforces that it's a lame tag on and no one should buy the PS3 version. Well to me it says that, but I don't care cause PC all the way for me.
@SpazldNinjaDude Well at the E3 conference they said the co-op campaign was PS3 exclusive, they never said timed exclusive (at least I don't think they did) so I was confused if it would be on 360/PC eventually or not. As for AC3, I read an article that the PS3 version was getting an additional 60 minutes of gameplay for it, I hope that's just timed as well.
@JustinFroese Ok, just to clear it up, do you think Ubi, after putting so much into the Story would just put content on a console exclusively? If it's MP maps, I don't care, the MP of AC was ok, but...well that's it, it was ok. Anyway, the DLC would be times exclusive for PS3, not exclusive (come out early on PS3). And as for as the co-op goes, they would be wasting a hella lot of money to just put it on one platform, it will be on PC and Xbox also.
@SpazldNinjaDude Oh, I see, I could have sworn they said the co-op campaign was PS3 exclusive but I'm not 100% sure. As long as it comes to 360 eventually I'll be getting it on that. I guess that explains AC3 too.
@JustinFroese No, it's not, they showed it at E3 for PS3 cause Ubi have a deal with Sony now, all DLC for Ubi games is out first on Sony consoles, why do you think there's a Vita game? Because Sony gave money to Ubi to make it, I bet there never wanted to.
@SpazldNinjaDude Isn't the co-op campaign PS3 exclusive? If not, I'd love to get it on PC but my PC is a pile of crap lol I usually get multiplatform games on my 360 but I thought this was exclusive to PS3?
@JustinFroese Cool....If you have a PC this is one to get for it! But if not, as long as you support it, cause it will be awsem!
@SpazldNinjaDude The co-op campaign is before Jason's SP campaign
@War_Slammer75 Ah ok, forgot it's a 'prequel' but that doesn't stop it linking into the story some how, maybe mentioned by guards or something. But I think I remember someone saying it will be somehow in the SP so it feels more natural in the world.
Far Cry was amazing, Far Cry 2 lacked the feeling of the first , it felt boring, slow and repetitive. This one seems to be going back to its roots so I'm excited for this one.
Glitch Mob - How To Be Eaten By A Woman
still not hyped for this game, even if they use bad ass music......that is getting used in everything these days lol
@elitejounin Far Cry 1 was the bees knees of open world games, it's old now, but check it out! If you like the look of this, you will like FC1. (but it's PC only). Unless you want a crappy console version of it, they are good, but nothing compared to the full PC version.
@Venom_Raptor Far Cry 2 was amazing, but had too many issues, it (now) feels more like a tech demo fro the Dunia engine than a full functional game. But was great fun none the less, I love it. Far Cry 1 was the bees knees of open world games, it's old now, but check it out!
it will be nice returning back to the tropics., Far Cry 2 was good, but missed the colorful blue waters n white beaches this franchise is best known for.
Although Farcry 2 was a Completly diferent game from Farcry(still liked st one better) it was still a good game.
The only thing that ruined Farcry 2 to me was the checkpoint respawn(that was retarded) that made kiling the bad guys meaningless, lose the respawn and its a day1 purchase, otherwise will not even give it a try.
@pcostix There wont be checkpoints like in 2, or I don't think there should, anyways am I the only one, or did FC2 feel more like a funded and purchasable tech demo (or beta either/or) for the Dunia Engine?
So will this be a good Farcry like the first game with actual monsters or is it going to be some generic shooter like the second?
@BIOJECT FC2 wasn't a generic shooter, yes FC1 was way better, but if you played FC2 as a shooter then go back and play it as a predator, stalking people, sneaking past them, FC3 will be more of the same but with better AI better graphics MUCH bigger wold and just generally everything better. And as FC3 is being deved for the PC first, I know Ubi for PC? weird anyways it won't be a shoddy port. The consoles will get the port which is how it should be. (and if anyone is a console gamer, that's not saying I hate consoles, I don't they are awsem, just PC is more power full more flexible and above all expandable, so you have to dev for a lot of hardware, thus you can just easy pick out the hardware consoles use, turn down settings and optimize, BANG you have a console game, that is the way it should be done, all the time).
@BIOJECT What, FarCry was good, since when?
@Inconsistancy Farcry was very good and so was the firs Crysis! They were inovative and the only reason there were no real sequels to those games were CONSOLES.
In the next Gen of Consoles almost every shooter will have those huge corridors, you can bet on that.
@BIOJECT if there are monsters it's suddenly not generic? i bet that's awfully original. no, there will be no actual monsters, but better. you can fight against real monsters, stuff that couldn't be done in the first game. you will fight bears, tigers, angry pirates and, most of all, the island itself. and i don't think this game will be generic at all.
