"Overrated"

Months of waiting and finally i could lay my hands on Far Cry 3. I really don't like building up the pressure so I wil go straight to the point. The Third Far Cry is a well designed, large scale game with decent gameplay, great visuals (although not phenomenal as it supposed to) and voice acting. Now the bad stuff: boring and dull main character (weak and without personality), it's really hard for the player to sympathize with him (even knowing what he went through). The main villain named Vaas is quite the opposite. He has strong but twisted personality, his actions and motivations may look like insane but there is more than meets the eye. His voice is well matched and the actor did a really good job dubbing this character. Another disturbing thing is the game mechanics. I really don't expect from the first person shooter to have sandbox elements or side activities like in GTA series. They are not that good and pointless to be honest. The main flaw is the level of difficulty. I could count on my both hands fingers how many times did i get killed in the whole game. In my opinion not that challenging as it should be. The main story line is not that interesting and I find myself on being weary. Of course there are many fun, enjoyable moments but at some point the game can be quite boring. Only patient players will fully acknowledge how good it is. I think Far Cry should remain as it was in previous games instead of being full sandbox. My final verdict: good title but to much overrated by some magazines and reviewers. I was hoping for a great hit matched to the first and best Far Cry from 2003. "Overrated" is the most suitable word to describe Far Cry 3 but even thouh its a good piece of code and it's worth playing.
