FarCry 2 Intel i7 Movie. Loved by gamers, hated by warlords.
Like everyone else has already said, the core i7 is really just overkill. There is no game on the market that requires this beast of a processor. Right now, all you need is a Core 2 duo (quad core if your thinking more powerful, though Core 2s still do a fine job so far) to do most of your gaming. I'd wait as long as you can until you buy another one because with every powerful hardware piece comes a big price tag. My Core 2 overcloaked to ( from 2.66 ghz) to about 3.73 or so and it does a great job at playing all my games. ( Far cry 2, Crysis, TF2, Fallout 3, Coh, to name a few)
You don't need the i7. You can put together a system capable of playing Crysis on max settings for about $800 not including monitor. Thats only using a Core 2 Duo. Intel needs to give the rest of us time to catch up before thinking we need it. They just want to stay ahead of AMD.
i7 is great if your a benchmark monkey or render artist but thats about it. For gaming the Exxxx and Qxxxx series are still top class.
You don't need an i7 core to play these games or coming up games. Duo cores are doing very well right now, and the best for gaming, especially at the higher resolutions. The higher the resolution, the less the CPU matters and the more your GPU takes on everything
They Keep on using us. Just so we buy & constantly upgrade our PCs. Just before the i7s were out, I upgraded my PC. Now if I want to upgrade to the i7 I need to change the MB that I paid 400$ for. Just to learn later that the motherboard can not harbor the full power of the graphic card. Who needs all that computing power??????? If someone out there is using the full power of his hardware PLS tell me.
I have no idea what the Q9000 series processors can OC to but the i7s were designed with OCing in mind. I have the cheapest one which is a 920 and I OC to 4.0+ ghz and it's completely stable. Also at the store I shop at... an i7 920 will run you about $280. Where as at the same store a Q9550 is $380. So I spend $100 less to get a newer, better, and faster processor.
yeah farcry2 is great but until you play crysis again on ya new i7 ya not really using it. great add but. octocore away!!
I'm also a Malaysian gamer but my pc sucks. You'll laugh at my specs. Its a old Compaq Presario 5000 but I changed the graphics card and added more RAM. Specs: Pentium 4(1.8GHz) 1GB of Ram Nvidia 7600GT 40GB of HD space.(There is 3 partition which limits to 15GB/partition.) OS: Windows XP service pack 2 Amazingly I'm able to run certain games on it like CoD 4 and Red Alert 3 with low graphics though RA 3 has low frame rates. CoD 4 runs smoothly with low graphics my monitor tends to "Blackout"(The screens turn black but the green light blinks). Why? Because I'm using a Samsung CRT monitor so if I'm lucky i can play the game with no problems. I'm planing to get a new PC but with the economy so bad now I don't I think I can plus I'm just a student with no income(sad). P.S:I have another laptop that is running on Pentium 3 and Windows Mellenium.=)
i7 mobo's and builds are generally more expensive than socket 775 socket mobo's ... I'm also told a q9550 with OC highe than a low end i7
I got this game for $2 and completed it today. Played it on Intel Quad core with 3 GB RAM and 1GB (dedicated) EVGA G-card..! SLI The game runs on Ultra High Display settings and it runs really smooth I really liked the Game...! Recently Played games : Crysis Crysis Warheads NFS undercover Call Of Duty Mordern Warfare GRID All these game works with Highest displat settings possible without lag..! I
i'm malaysian gamer.now i'm playing this game.my pc:amd athlon 2 and ati radeon HD3650 crossfire runs the game smoothly
Ahhh the newest in "buy this so you'll be prepared for the apocalypse" CPU. AMD's phenom was looking pretty good but as usual the ladder of Intel / AMD / Intel / AMD we all knew something was coming. I'll wait a couple years and "struggle" (lmao) with my C2Duo and maybe think about it when its around a $100. Cheers to Intel, the commercial was a bit of a surprise with FC2 layout.
Well im still using my 2 year old trusty E6300 @ 1,86ghz, gonna wait about a year or so before getting one of these. Not much of a point getting such a powerful proc. as even my humble e6300 can pretty much handle all the games out there at high, with exception to GTA4, that is.
Depends what you mean by "worth it" - from what I've read the i7's are a pretty big performance boost, with the ditching of FSB and whatnot. The Core 2 Quad-cores will be sufficient in games mainly because the GPU will make the biggest difference. The i7's do a lot more than just improve game performance.
Core i7's aren't gonna be worth it for at least another 6 months. Not a single game requires that much power. You'd be literally burning your money away.
Stupid video. Who cares about i7 anyway? I have an E8500 and 9600GT and I OWN Far Cry 2. Only game that kills my rig is Crysis... But all I need to fix that is a better video card.
I love how people get so worked up over a commercial. So what if it looks bad, so what if you don't like Intel, it's just a commercial. If you don't like it, make something better...oh wait...
oh yea, amd is awesome for gamers on a budget, while intel is definately the way to go if money isn't an obstacle, that being said amd is my dear friend. oh yea and lol at the person who posted taht ridicously long comment, i didn't read it but wanted to give it a thumbs down just because its so long >.>
my guess? they had an amateur machinima competition and thats why this commercial is so "out there", and also explains the subpar graphics?? well thats the only way i can justify this commercial in my head
i7 is cool, but I didn't get it, why are the graphics worse in this clip then in the actual game? They look like plastic dolls
-_- Lame. Also, this makes me wanna gouge my own eyes out with a butter knife, as my PC is outdated, and needs a new processor and more RAM very, very badly. Unfortunately, it's not worth it to replace a processor in a PC. Damn. :[
That doesn´t makes justice to what this processsor can do even it makes farcry look like a horrible plastic game
Everybody chill the hell out. It's a commercial, not a movie to make you laugh. It may have tried to entertain you for a bit and failed, but that wasn't their main purpose. So just chill.
