There is one more. That buddy was in a plane crash and you must save him/her. I dont remember what area they are in, Ill post that when I get home.

My buddies were at diff locations. I found Michelle at the Lumber Yard
Quick question though, do you just go to these locations to get the buddy, or do you have to hear about it from those UFLL/APR doormen?

The locations of your buddies depend on where your starting mission was.
The location of your starting mission depends on what quadrant of Pala you die in, during the first part of the game (Escape)

How many buddies are there to find in each area?
So far I got 4 in the first area, is that all or are there more. I've read that some people had 6 in the first area, is this true?

I also heard you can have up to 6 buddies in the Northern Province.
I am currently looking for more buddies on my current (2nd playthrough), all I'm doing is side missions and looking for Diamonds. And my Rescue Ready buddy Flora Quillen OD'd on morphine.
Marty is my step in.
Also GeneSteak where you fall down in the first part of the game during the firefight does not depict who your buddies are. It is randomized everytime in the first loading screen, so are the NPC's clothing. For instance when you reach the first bridge check point, it does not matter what character you choose to play as everytime you reach the bridge those Mercs have different clothing on. One time I saw the white guy that wants beer with no shirt and a cowboy hat on. lol

Dude, read my post. That's not what I said. Where you fall in Pala DOES determine where you start your first mission, get your first payment, and whether you first work for UFLL or APR. I didn't even say anything about it affecting who your buddies are.
The only thing that changes about your buddies for sure outside of the randomization is that, Marty Alencar will be your buddy in either the north or south region, depending on who you start with.

Ok, here is a map of the northern section. The location of the buddy that was in the plane crash is the black dot inside the big red circle.

i still can't find the plane crash, all i found in the middle of the big red circle on the upper left area of the map is an empty save house... do i miss anything ?
i'm currently playing just before accepting the quest to kill gakuimba...
