One of the better comic book-based games.

User Rating: 8 | Fantastic 4 GC
Fantastic 4 suffers from what most comic book-based games suffer from, which is complete lack of gameplay. While I'm sure the game was rushed out and only thrown out there to rake in a few bucks from both comic book nerds and fans of the movie alike, it's still a decent game, one of the better comic book games I must admit. The game is basically a beat-em-up, and you can get through each level in about 5 minutes just by pounding the crap outta your enemies. The storyline not only follows that of Dr. Doom and the movie, but focuses on other F4 villains, including The Mole. The game is fairly interesting, and the graphics are very well done, but I wanted something more from it, possibly a bit more strategy and adventure, and a bit less "Punch the villian!" The cast of the movie lend their voices, repsectively, and do a good job. Even though the game lacks in many departments, I still found myself addicted. It was incredibly fun for a beat-em-up button-masher, even if it is shallow and repetitive. I'd definitely recommend renting it, and avoiding buying it, unless you're an extremely hardcore F4 fan, then maybe just wait until it's price has been cut 3 or 4 times. All in all, a very fun, addictive, shallow, mindless game.
