Another Poor TV game show to a console "We Asked 100 people" Vernon Kay I can't take it any more.

User Rating: 2 | Family Fortunes DS
Family Fortunes is the UK version of the US game show Family Feud you might be thinking the games are quite similar on the DS no they not at all. Once again Mindscape are back releases another game show to video game fail they already released the pointless Golden Balls game and the boring Deal or No Deal games.

Family Fortunes starts off with a flashy intro with Vernon Kay as what you would see on TV on ITV Vernon is the presenter of the show. Then the game starts on the top screen you have a picture of a badly still animated picture of Vernon which ever moves it's there all the way threw the game. On the bottom screen is where you select from the main menu and throughout the game so the top screen isn't used at all. On the main menu have have a choice between All Star Family Fortunes which is the main game of the single, two player and download play. The other is My family Fortunes where you can edit a family by changing the name and changing the look but this feature is limited.

Lets get on to the game the first rounds are the single money round with Vernon saying "In a survey we asked 100 people" then "We asked 100 people" every round. After doing so many single money rounds then you have the double money rounds. Then the final going into the family face off where 2 people from 1 family answer the survey to try and get the top answer. The main problem with this game is it gives you a list of answers which are both right and wrong even if you have used the word the same answer is still there on screen. The timer makes it hard as your looking threw the list and the time you have chose your answer the time is up and sometimes it chooses the wrong answer. The DS US version of Family Feud is different as you can put in your own answer why didn't the developer do it that way instead of been more lazy with the UK edition.

You can also see families in 3d this actually looks nice and I'm surprised that the developers done something nice for a change and it looks clear. As for the theme of Family Fortunes it's not the original theme at all as we hear on TV.

Overall this isn't worth buying it's quite better then other games released by Mindscape but Slam Devsystem the developers have left the problem in with the game selecting wrong answers just like Millionaire 2nd edition. Overall If you are a fan of the show like I am I'd recommend getting Family Feud it's a better game which gives more choice then the UK version of Family Fortunes. Personally I think Ludia should have just ported Family Feud and changed it around so it was Family Fortunes. I like Vernon Kay but after having hearing him say "We asked 100 people" over and over again was really driving me insane.
