Fallout: New Vegas - Dead Money User Review

- The Bottom Line:
- "Check your bargain bin"
I was very excited to learn that New Vegas, like its cousin, was to get Holiday time DLC especially when I saw the setting it was in. However I can now safely say it is without doubt the WORST of all the Fallout DLCs.
First off the time. Fallout 3's "Mothership Zeta" took me, a relatively short, 3 hours to complete. I completed Dead Money in about 2 hours, at the end I kinda just felt "Where's the rest of it?". Also there are no extra collectables so the repalyability value is zero, which is just aswell as you can't go back to Sierra Madres after finishing the quest!
Secondly the plot is all over the place without giving away any details I'll just say that with "Point Lookout", "Broken Steel" and "Operation Anchorage" you knew where you were with those. Dead Money at many times had me frustrated at how scattered and random the plot details were, the main one featuring a schizophrenic Nightkin.
My last point can't really be graded but it is the fun I had playing it. "Mothership Zeta" is considered the worst DLC so far but I actually had fun running around a spaceship dressed as half samurai, half cowboy killing aliens and robots. In Dead Money however I did NOT have any fun trawling around a confusing area (of which is incredibly small) getting attacked constantly with little to no weapons or health items (they get taken away).
So overall a 3/10 if you can get it for free then sure it'll waste an hour or 2 but I wouldn't even bother considering buying this underfinished, confusing pile of a mess that is "Dead Money"

One idea stretched very, very, very thin and ruined by overuse of a terrible gaming mechanic.

The Extra Weapons and Equipment are The Only Thing That Makes Dead Money Interesting

Designed for Fallout Veterans: good story, great speech interactions, and it makes you take your time and think
