First of all, the graphics. This game uses Nintendo 64's expansion pack, therefore the graphics are marvelous, all the scenarios are really colorful and the characters are as sharp as they can be. The worlds are beautiful and all textures have been used in an amazing way.
The sound effects are nice, not awesome. The songs don't have much of a personality and can't be compared to some DK's classic songs, yet the opening movie has a great son called DK's Rap, which has become the anthem of the character.
We all know the game storie. K. Roll appears and steals DK bananas so he just run after them and try to defeat K.Roll because he is an annoying bastard.
There are 7 worlds and a overworld, all of them are pretty big and will take you some time to explore and know every corner. In each world, including the overworld, you will find 5 Golden bananas for each of your 5 monkeys to get, in a total of 200 Golden bananas, there is the 201th one, but this is another storie.
Besides all those items there are also Banana Coins, that you will give to Cranky for him to teach you some moves, or use them to get a gun or maybe a musical instrument from other Kongs, Banana Medals, regular bananas, a blue print and lots of other collectibles.
That means, it will take you a long time to get the game completely finished. It took me a little more than 35 hours in the first time.
The game also includes some nice Mini-Games as challenges on DK arcade classic or Rare's Jetpack. Besides those there are some other unlockables and a nice MultiPlayer mode, nothing amazing.
In a nutshell, DK 64 is a classic of its generation, perhaps is the longest Platform Game released up-to-date. And the best thing, it doesn't get boring.
