Such a great game. I've put 400+ hours into this and it would forever be my all time favorite.
Playing Oblivion at the moment and it's the first 'real' RPG I've made the effort to go through. I'm considering Fallout next. Is it important to play an earlier Fallout or should I play this one straight-away?
@urmstonbeaumont There may be some references or "lore" that you won't understand but it won't really take away from the game at all. I say play this one first.
1 Like I'm playing through this now on PS3 and am really enjoying it. It feels quite small in comparison to Skyrim and the world isn't as fun to explore but I like the fact that your decisions here are far more impactful. I just wish it's world wasn't so empty, but it makes sense within the context of the game.
@sknight175216 Agree, Kotor 1 and 2 are great games and left a long lasting apeal to me. Looking forward to play Fallout 3.
1 Like GameSpot gives all the greatest games a 9.0............seems low, they should give them at least a 9.5.
4 Like I bought the game of the year edition for $20 on ps3, and haven't noticed any issues yet. It plays great ,and looks great, and I am so addicted I can't put it down.
This Game is Awesome and vacation starts tommrow and I am going to still play it. Love this Game!
Why do multiplatform games end up being inferior on the PS3...Im starting to regret switching from 360...now that RROD is fixed I think Ill sell this inferior machine and buy a new 360.
@jagcivtec The reason multi platform games work inferior on the ps3 is because of the unreal engine. Game developers have a hard time translating a pc designed game to it, were as microsofts xbox is a smooth transition. It sucks that sony didn't make a more user friendly design engine, but exclusives like uncharted, god of war 3, or killzone 2 & 3 work and look fantastic.
1 Like @canuckbiker agree with you on the exclusives being great both technically and visually, but too many amazing games are multi platform and I have no love for having to play an inferior version.
I love this damn game. Even with a mid range PC and on medium settings, Fallout 3 is incredible.

This game touched my heart and keeps doing it. It's my favorite game of all time... I just love how the Wasteland looks and I would love to live in a world like that. Hahah sounds creepy but in conclusion GET THIS GAME!

@PrplMnkyDshwsr7 Come on man. As much as I love FO3. I will have to say New vegas is not bland. I mean in vegas at one moment, you can be in dark Mojave desert, then the next up north in the hills were it snows. The environment and feel is still cool in vegas, and the new faction system, makes things even more interesting. The only bad thing about vegas, is that for some reason it has more bugs. Still i'd say it is an improvement. But FO3 is still and instant classic. Check out my review on my page anyhow, and tell me your thoughts. You seem like proper FO fan. Peace.

Love this game, I was done with new vegas in a month...FO3 I just keep playing, such a better atmosphere. The DC ruins are sooo much more enjoyable to keep re-visiting then bland new vegas. Get the PC version modded up and the replay value seems infinite.
@wondernova no problem dont mind answering fallout questions right now...been playing 3 non stop the past week so i know more now than i did when i helped
at level 15 i can't possibly kill fawkes, he is definitely the toughest follower in the game
@wondernova the talking tree (Harold btw) is in Oasis (which going there can also start a side quest) i remember Oasis being north and hidden in a canyon
I've been playing for 50 hours, and I haven't come across that talking tree. Where is it? Secondly why would you shoot Fawkes? It's like having you own terminator!
@uberxl33t how is Fallout 3 linear? its an open world game where you go where you want when you want. The only thing thats pretty linear is the main story, but everything else is open to whatever you want. Oblivion also had a linear storyline as did morrowind, in a way mass effects story is linear you just choose which planet you want to land on first, I haven't seen a game where the main storyline isn't linear not even in big open world games.
I remember watching this right before I bought it, as a long-time RPG fan I was a bit disappointed with its linearity but still sunk many hours into it. Glad NV just improved upon it rather than totally changing it.
@Venom Raptor try getting a new PC which has made in the, huh i dunno, 21st century maybe. i think that should solve the problem
if this had true iron sights and no invisible walls this would be the best game in history and if he knew how to play he would be a lot more surprised with this game
