Not the most powerful in the game.... but my standbuys were always "The Terrible Shotgun" and "Lincoln's Repeater".

Alien Blaster at the crash site or the Android's Plasma Rifle for me.

I like the plasma rifle, IMO. Great firing rate, and GOO.

Dart gun. A slow painful death that you don't know where it came from.

If you fell for it, it isn't cheap. It is just something that works on you. Adapt.. Or curl up in the fetal position, your call.

Glitched Gauss Rifle. The only weapon I really use end-game. Simply awesome.

The weapon with the most perfect balance between superb power and availablity of ammo and repairs that I've come across is probably the Metal Blaster. Laser Rifles are everywhere, MF Cells are ridiculously plenty and it puts out insane power. That said, if I've played through Zeta and thus have enough Epoxies to last forever, Vengeance is my pick. With the PL perks I find that it's the most consistently effective way of plowing through just about anything.

This is excluding Anchorage as I have not played it. Based on the information on the Wiki and how powerful the YCS is in New Vegas, though, I think the Gauss Rifle could very well be the best.

The problem with the MIRV is it uses tons of fat mans. They are already hard to find.

I know it's great when you're in your first few levels, but overall, really? It only does about 30 DMG max and you can easily get Lincoln's Repeater while getting the poster for the State of the Union quest. Sure, I don't have over 1,000 ammo yet because .44 is rare, but I never lose more than I can buy. If I really wanted to I could keep "waiting" for Lucky Harith to keep showing up, but that would take a long time.

I've picked up every unique weapon in the game, I have a bunch of ammo for the Lincoln Repeater but I rarely use it. It makes the game too easy for me even on the hardest difficulty. I stick to Ol Painless and the Kneecapper. <3
