Where is it and how do I start it?

Is there any benefits to completing it?

    Anything special/worth getting?

    Thanks

    *spoiler*

Inside the Museum of American History you'll find the entrance to the Underworld. Within the Underworld go to the doctor's ward and you'll find Riley unconscious. Have the doctor force her out of the coma using a successful speech check. After you talk with Riley you'll begin the quest.

Go to the Underworld hospital, talk to Reilly (I woke her up with a medicine skill of 60) and she'll give you the quest.

Complete the quest for the usual experience and stuff, you'll also get the location Ranger Compound, talk to Reilly there again and she gives you the "quest" of finding locations for caps. This is a great way to make money.

Also after completing the quest, she offers you the reward of a unique Minigun or some excellent Ranger Armor, AP +5, Sm Guns +5, and Luck +1 with a relatively high DR (in the 20s). This is a great quest to complete!

If you go to the Underworld, Reilly is unconscious in the clinic.. you need to have a high medical skill (I think it was 60) to wake her.. mine wasn't high enough when I was there, so I haven't done this yet.. but If you talk to the doctor, he will mark the Reilly's Ranger Compound on your map (It's in the DC ruins at the very eastern edge of the map)

I'm pretty sure there are other ways to start it, I think you can run into the rangers in the wastes; they're looking for Reilly.

You guys are forgetting about the radio broadcast. Outside the Museum you should be able to pick up Riley's emergency broadcast, tune into that and the quest should automatically show up.

I start the mission by reaching the hotel rooftop, I never bump into Railey the entire time. I only met her after I saved 2 of them and return to their compound.

I saved the rangers by picking their radio signal and letting them out of the hotel. Didn't meet Reilly or even head to Underworld yet.

Apparently, the only difference is that saving them without talking to Reilly first means you will never, ever be able to open Theo's ammo stash on your way to the top.

You dont really miss much with theo's ammo stash, as a matter of fact, you end up giving the ammo to the other rangers if you want. There isnt anything really worth it in the box.

I received the quest after going through the hospital and coming out on one of the top floors where there is a bridge over to the hotel. From there I received the radio signal and proceeded up to the roof where I helped them escape back to their compound.

One of the better unerrated quests because of the money making by locations and the choice of armor or minigun as a reward, plus healing and rad healing for free.

I wasn't aware that healing and rad healing for free in the compound?

Check with the Ranger Doc, I forgte his name. He never charged me. Repairs seemed cheaper too.

The ranger armor actually has a DR of 39 when fully repaired, so it's a good alternative to Power Armour.
  • Nov 18, 2008 12:30 pm GMT
I prefer the ranger armor because it is lighter and I run into more things carring combat armor that can be used to repair it.

Anyone know how good the mini gun is?

It's alright, but who actually uses miniguns? Just get Vengeance, ECPs are cheap and plentiful.

I took the armor as my reward and stole Eugene off of Brick so I got both.
