Perhaps the best and most addictive MMO I've played.

User Rating: 9 | Fallen Earth: Welcome to the Apocalypse PC
Fallen Earth has been a breath of fresh air in terms of gaming. The game starts out with a opening tutorial sequence that concerned me on whether Fallen Earth would be worth my time (weird combat, odd animations, questionable graphics etc). However, after giving the game a few hours I quickly found that I was engrossed by the experience. Many of the mechanics are similar to other MMOs out there, but Fallen Earth manages to merge the best of them (quest, crafting, skills etc) and even adds a few tricks of its own which improves upon what is commonly thought of as a stale formula.

The graphics in Fallen Earth have been one of the most stated complaints and do start off dated but can be tweaked to a level surpassing the majority of MMOs on the market. Like most PC games, the graphic detail depends heavily on owning a decent PC and the players time taken to adjust the settings (example: AA at at least 8 (although 4 is passable), Supersample/adaptive quality on, AF at 8 or 16, V sync on, all setting in game at 100% and ground textures at very high).

Fallen Earth as a game is odd in places such a combat (takes a bit getting used to) and the overall lack of hand holding can be off putting for newcomers. Nevertheless, the melee, pistol, and rifle combat begins to grow on you over time and provides a nice (if not frustrating at times) challenge. The crafting system is Fallen Earth's strongest point and is addictive, inventive, and challenging. The weapon and clothing variety is plentiful and has been enjoyable to loot or even craft. The games mount system is a nice touch and adds a level of questing its own right (horses, atv, motorcycle, cars, etc).

Overall, I'm thoroughly enjoying Fallen Earth and I hope more people give the game 8 levels or so to see if I'm right when I suggest that this might just be one the best MMOs that has been released since WoW.
