How do I solve scarabs thirst?

I'm stuck on the last 2 trophies. I've set all the wind traps and talked to everyone in mirage city, including the sphinx but it wont finish the last main quest so Ican go on and finish the last side quest(morgaina's husband) :( I've done several laps around the city and still the sphinx wont finish the quest

The quest wont finish till u talk to oberon in Avalon.

(possible spoiler) Have you removed the curse from the fox? After that quest is done, talk with the ex-fox and then the Sphinx. I think you'll be told that the thirst problem is over.
