Excellent game, worth every penny

This game is great if you just keep the hype out of mind. In fact, I honestly think the only big dissapointment was no multiplayer. I mean, how much time are you going to spend tending to your children when you can go massacre villagers? Anyways, the initial presentation is very nice, and continues throughout the entire experience. The level of polish is the highest I've ever seen in any game ever. The graphics are fantastic; the lighting really adds alot to the atmosphere. The dynamix shadows are also neat, as its cool to see the shadows longer before the sun goes down as well as the spotty foliage shadows. Personally, I think the best part of the graphics is definitely the environments. They are all VERY detailed and ambient. Leaves fall, grass blows in the wind, birds and insects fly around. The music is also fantastic and gives a cinematic feel to the game. The music is very catchy, and always flows nicely. The gameplay is not the most revolutionary, but still very open ended. You can go do a variety of social interactions, many of which are hilarious. Buy houses, trade, get married; it's all here. The quests are all varied and fun, but there's not an abundance of these, so if you want you could beat the game in under 20 hours (I don't know why you would want to though). The combat is very fun, and the animations are very nice. There are no unnatural movements to be found. There is a wide assortment of unique spells that are all spectacularly animated. On a side note, the combat is fairly bloody, and you can decapitate people. I think this is cool, since most games of this genre are aimed at younger audiences (such as Zelda) and provide no cool visuals or combat (though admittedly they are still fun). Again, I cannot stress how atmospheric this game is. But all this would be for naught if the story sucked. I assure you, while not as original as others, it doesn't suck. But the gameplay makes up for any plot defficiencies ten times over. The best thing about this game is the character. You can be whoever you want, which adds alot of replayability to this game. Its also cool to see your character gain scars, tatoos, new haircuts, ect. The leveling up is very fun and intuitive, probably the best in any game I've ever played. All in all, the only complaint I have about this game is the frequent loading times between areas (although they are short). I think that currently, if you own an Xbox and want one game, get Halo. If you want two, get Halo and Fable.
