Tom Mc Shea delves into the Lionhead Studios storybook and uncovers this review for Fable III.
this game says more action adventure less rpg and that's why this game is great
One of the worst games this generation. A step down in every way from Fable 2.
got this free with my xbox so im gonna have to play and finish it eventually.
While I like this game, it is an example how not to do a sequel. If they would have put a little more money and effort into this then Fable 3 could have been like Skyrim was to oblivion.
Do i need to play Fable 2 to understand Fable 3's story?
0:48 chicken in duh face
they should of built it off the first one, but they decided to change EVERYTHING AND RUIN IT
I don't know, I actually like this game...
It was fun, just not as fun as it could have been.
I'm amazed how it sucks.
such a shame i had such hopes and i even ordered the collectors edition.I as a fable fan still enjoyed it
a great game. but not so exciting. it could be much better
Tom mentions one of my greatest issues here, ultimately you have to be good. Also I simply don't feel as though it develops upon fable 2 in any way and it still has the freezing issues the golden trail still breaks
should i get this or fable 2 thumbs up for this thumbs down for the second one
2:00 says it all. I hate this game because all you can do to create relationships is fart, dance or play patty cake with others. wtf. so friggen stupid. combat was dumbed down and ranged combat sucks balls, no aiming any more. I liked that it was smoother and less glitchy than fable 2 but seriously the less of an RPG than fable 1 it becomes, the more i dislike the fable games.
Tom clearly didn't bother playing this game. No emotional connection to any character? What about the dog? Whenever an enemy hits my dog in combat, i personally take great offense to it. Once you finish the game there's alot to collect and discover so there's a ton of replay value to keep you entertained. This game is awesome. Deserves a 9
come on guys this game is the best of them
I still can't believe Tom gave this half-assed piece of turd a 7.5.
Fable 1 is the best but i have 1 and 2 so i might has well complete the triolgy
I hated the magic system of Fable II, so seeing that come back is agrivating.
Fable I and II was way deeper and more engaging than Fable III.
Apparently dealing with the menu is a huge pain.
fable III !!!! awesome !!!
Fable has now become a joke of a series and not worth playing. Maybe one day they will put some effort or at least difficulty in it.
This game had ridiculous hype, and its painfully obvious it didn't live up to most of it. Every game that is purchased USED by someone else is FIRST bought at FULL price by someone NEW. I can't see how me buying something used that was purchased previously by someone new is taking food off of the Dev's tables. Using their logic if I borrow a game out to a friend am I robbing someone of being able to make enough money to pay their electric bill or buy diapers for their newborn? I think not! I think they need to be more worried about piracy and modded xbox's that read copied discs that anything. The game industry is slowing ruining used games entirely by having these online pass codes and VIP access for people that buy it used or rent it. I almost always rent games or at least play them at a friends house before I whip out my hard earned cash to purchase them. I dont pirate myself but I own plenty of used games some that are quite new, if I can find a newer game used for $44 or $30 its a no brainer to buy it then to pay 15 or 30 dollars more just to take plastic wrapping off of the package. I've been buying used games for years (1992-Present) and only in the past month have I encountered any that were damaged., one was from gamestop and one was from a local mom and pop shop (Last Stop CD Shop for all you midwesterners here)
for me, it is the best Fable game ever! i'm not wanting thumbs down. i'm just saying that because it's true, that's all.
It was a fun game but not anywhere near as fun as fable 1 or 2
I loved Fable 1 and 2, I litterally played them for hour and hours. This one however for me was a letdown... thats not saying it wasnt a good game. It's just that it felt far far too linear. Sure you can go around and buy houses and mess around with the locals, but the plot is too linear. The art style is amazing as always and the comedy is top notch... the combat isnt as great however. The game just wasnt paced properly imo and unlike the other 2 fable games, it didnt keep me coming back for more
this game is fine and so underrated its not even funny... i mean surely it doesent measure up to the likes of the elder scrolls or assassins creed but it definitely deserves some more credit.
Whoever thinks this game is awesome should seriously have their head examined. Biggest disappointment of my whole gaming year. Thank Joe Pesci I didn't buy this game and just burrowed it off of my buddy, who now greatly regrets buying it.
This game just... Sucked, so hard.
If you played Fable 2 on your friends Xbox 360 yours or any ones and you liked it that you shouldn't be thinking of getting this on Xbox 360 you should just get it!
Great Game liked it more then fable 2
After this review, I'm actually glad the PC version is still TBA. Hopefully, this sub-par X360 version serves to spur them to make/finish an all the better PC version with all this time they're taking to release it. Not only graphically, as usual, but a proper upgraded version, as they tend to be when they're released months after the console versions; i.e.: Fable: The Lost Chapters. Hahah! And sounds like an upgrade is all it needs to bump its value a good several notches higher. I'll cross my fingers for that.
I don't know what the hate is all about, I found Fable III to be awesome, better than Fable II and obviously more polished and streamlined.
If you ask me they were generous with the review score. This game took the stuff i didn't like about fable ii and EXPANDED on the problems. The combat has devolved into something more like god of war, and the game DOESN'T HAVE A MAP, just a golden line that frequently glitches and a wildly inaccurate 3D table that's only good for buying houses. Every single weapon is a legendary weapon (?) aside from the starter weapons, the leveling system has been SCREWED (All you do is open chests, and the amount you can level is limited by storyline progression) and all the social interactions involve holding the same button over and over until they like or hate you. And who's the genius who decided to replace all the menus with walk-around rooms? It takes longer to walk than it does to scroll, and it takes you right out of the game. Honestly, this was my most disappointing purchase in a long while.
WTF is up with everyone hating fable 3 i think that it was better than fable 2 and i give it a 9.
Well, Fable 2 never came to PC, so I guess I won't be suffering from any deja vu.
This game was anything but funny. Sorry Tom but wearing drag, dressing like a chicken and playing patty cake is just lame. It was lame in Fable 2 and just plain annoying in Fable 3. Lionhead screwed up with this pile of trash. Its too short, too linear and just too freaken easy!
I don't understand why this game has to be so short. I would probably have bought it if it was longer.
this one had the best story out of all the fable games, but was WAY WAY WAY too short and too linear
you should try it...short but awesome
I think the review is a little low it should be like a 8 or maybe an 8.5.
I wanted to rent Need for Speed Hot Pursuit but Gamefly sent me Fable 3. I have never played any Fable game so i'm pretty skeptical...you can never top the original game. Look at New Vegas....
I also think its safe to say that Fable is making the transition from rpg to action (or, as the media are calling it, "streamlining". Like Mass Effect 2) which is fine its just...not Fable...
I really hope that the next Fable will go back to Fable 1 roots, where there was actually armor and different weapons and an AWESOME spell system. Fable 3 is still pretty good though
nice review..this game looks awesome

This game got a 7.5 for not improving much on the previous game (got an 8.5). Where-as Super Mario Galaxy 2 got a 10 even though it is exactly the same as the first. It's laughable. This game is awesome and in my eyes deserves an 8.5 at least
I want this game
