The only thing that seems to carry over is the game will make references to the gender of your parent. For some it will say "your father" and for others it will say "your mother".

Seeing as how PC users wont have any saves, it shouldnt be anything major. Most likely something like the statues that you could put up in F2. I doubt experience will carry over as fable is mostly about the journey to power thus you usually start out pretty weak.

The developers say that their won't be anything that carries over between the games.

Nothing carriers over. You start as a new hero all together.

From what i was made to understand the only thing that carries over are supposed to be some of the decision made in ur F2 game. For example, the choice made at the end, needs of the few/many/one.

The ONLY thing I noticed that carries over is the sex of your Hero, I had a character that drank the potion in Fairfax Castle turning him from a dude to a chick... and in the Fable III guide I have it refers to the Prince's Father as the last hero... in my game it keeps saying my Mother. It seems to be determined by the End of Fable II, but didn't specify what point because I completed See the Future with my female character but Defeated Lucian with my Male.

It doesnt. the gender doesnt even carry over unless its in a really random manner. i beat fable 2 twice. the first one was a male, second a female, and third a male. i finished them in that order and its the order i started them. however it refers to the hero from fable 2 as my mother. so i really dont think that carries over.

@imthestuntman It does matter. I believe the system goes by the % of completion. But I believe that you cannot check this progress. If a % of your game progress is higher than your other profiles, it MAY alter the voice-over in Fable III.

@VKAllen92 It could also be whichever hero in Fable2 you played as most recently; my most recent play in Fable2 is a male, my friend's is a female, my other friend is a female, and my last friend is a male; my Fable3 hero's parent was father, friend1 was mother, friend2 was mother, and friend3 was father. That seems to be the case, as we all have multiple gender heroes on our Fable2 saves.
Other than gender, there are a very small amount of dialogue difference depending on certain aspects of Fable2, though none that I can remember with certainty. I do remember that it most certainly does not change the game/story in any way, even any minor way. -
The answer is for those who had it on the console it will carry over whether you were a boy or girl as that determines whether it is your mother or your father who is the hero in fable 3. If your hero in fable 2 was a male then its your father in fable 3, if it was a female then its your mother. Also it does take the sex change potion into account (I found this out myself as my hero was a male but after the game over and I got FairFax Castle and used the potion I became a female and now in Fable 3 they state my mother was the hero, they never mention my father).

It goes by the completion if you have more than one that are fully complete then it goes by the last one that was played.

The last character you save in Fable2 becomes your parent in Fable3. I've complete one Fable3 play through where my Fable 2 character was female and was referred to as "...a hero like his mother". The second Fable3 game i started (after loading and saving my male character from Fable2) referred to my father as the Hero of Bowerlake. As far as decision carry over is concerned there doesn't appear to be any. In my male game save in F2 I destroyed the Temple of Darkness in Rookridge and in my female F2 save i supported it and it had no effect on the look/feel/existence/demeanor of Brightwall Village in F3 (if your paying close attention you'll notice that the bridge that leads to Brightwall as well as the outer town wall are the same bridge/wall in Rookridge leading to the Temple of Darkness)

Greiver_2112 is right, the only change really is a handful of comments about the old king/queen as being your father/mother respectively. A friend and I played different Fable II sexes, and we've got the corresponding dialogue for our chosen gender.
