this was the only april fools joke i actually fell for and i was really thinking "peter molyneux has really lost his mind this time..." nice job LAWL.
APRIL FOOL'S DAY: Peter Molyneux gives us the dirt on the new animal breeding DLC arriving for Fable II.
One of the best features Fable II had going for it was the inclusion of man's best friend. Rain or shine, healthy or limping, your trusty dog would follow you anywhere you went in the world of Albion. Whether you were a paragon of virtue or a lousy roustabout prone to carrying on extramarital affairs in the local Gypsy camp and charging exorbitant prices for pies, your pup was always there to help sniff out hidden treasure and provide constant companionship. Now the world of Fable pet ownership has been expanded with new DLC called My Pocket Pets.
My Pocket Pets is described by Peter Molyneux as a companion to Fable II that allows you to breed and raise dogs and eventually import them into the world of Fable II. The most compelling feature of this DLC is the price; the download itself will cost nothing. However, there is a small, reoccurring service fee for the expenses that go along with keeping your pet alive. That fee is one dollar a day. Or your pet dies.
But let's not get hung up on money. A dollar a day is a small price to pay to keep your cuddly companion alive. And considering the possibilities for cross-breeding, it'll be worth it. You can literally breed any type of dog you want with another one. Are you a struggling hero known to lose fights and drown in the ocean? Why not mix a Pitbull Terrier with a Newfoundland and get the ultimate mixture of toughness and rescuing abilities in your dog? If something a bit cuter is more up your alley, you can mix a Dachsund with a Welsh Corgi for the most adorable dog known to man. The opposite sex simply won't be able to turn you down.
But if dogs and scientific morality bore you, you can take the next step forward and mix entire species. It may be a difficult child to love, but you can breed a Troll with a Ghost Pirate if you so choose. Or maybe a Balverine and a Banshee? A Hobbe and a hobo? The possibilities are endless!
No release date has been announced, but My Pocket Pets will be available on Xbox Live Marketplace within the next few months. Look for a full review and a feature called "Top 10 Abominations of Nature Made in My Pocket Pets" when it comes out.
Aw, i just read the headline and i was imagining my character settling on a farm and breeding animals, it sounded AWESOME! As i read it tho, it was still a nice April Fools :p
lol I fell for this for a sec, I thought to myself, "Who the hell is going to pay a dollar a day for this crap?"
That would be cool if it existed but the amount of work it would require would be insane haha. Also pricetag = ALOT But there is DLC coming for fable 2 I heard, so I almost believed this for a second.
Despite being a (good) joke with a ridiculous price tag, it would be cool to have like a half-balvarine half-tiger follow you around in Fable. I shall call him Snuffles.
most all your people are sad, sad people, i cant believe you actually fell for this april fools joke and actually believed he was going to put it in the game. loosen up people sheesh.
Haha a couple people actually think this is real. It was very serious sounding. I laughed out loud when it showed a fly with a rhino head and a starfish with a bear head.
Peter has a lot of experience at acting when talking about game features. He did the same thing here that he did when doing non April Fool's Fable 1 and 2 interviews.
wow haha some of you guys aren't the sharpest tools in the shed you do no its April Fools and its a prank joke
LOL that was awesome. "You have made a crime against nature" one of the screens said. Ahh... takes me back to Shen Long in the pages of Gamepro =p
LOL!!! Youtube or not... for only ONE DOLLAR A DAY!!!! You can keep your Starfish-Bear alive! What a rip off! What a horrible idea for a game. TOTALLY an April Fool's Joke!!!
Holy ****..This is actually real guys.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0
