First off I just want to say they've taken a few things out of this years iteration of F1, however small. The rain effects you would get on your screen while driving no longer are in effect unless you get behind a car, the rain also no longer looks like its coming at you anymore, it just falls straight down no matter how fast you go which I guess is all fine and everything because when you think about it that's how it would be in the real world as well. The rain effects this year have a greater impact on gameplay, you really want to drive cautiously (unless you're driving with full handicaps) and make sure your car is straightened out coming out of a turn before you give it full throttle otherwise you'll lose your back end real fast. The transition from wet to dry is very critical and strategy plays a HEAVY part as well as your driving skills being tested heavily. I've gone from first to last in the second race because my strategy was off and I was sliding all over the place when conditions changed. Learning from your mistakes is vital. Also tire wear comes in heavily in this game as well, you want to stick to the race line as much as possible because if you stray from it and go in the area less traveled you will wear your tires much faster and run a greater risk of a tire blowout which will really ruin your day. The sound in the game is good, there's actually people in the stands and the AI is much better this season. They make mistakes in strategy and driving just like you would, not so much in the higher tiers of racers, you can also change your fuel mixture which gives you less performance to max performance. You may ask "why would I want less performance?" Well when the conditions are wet or changing from wet to dry you'll want a lean mixture in my opinion and once the conditions dry out you can switch it back to standard or rich mixture for max performance. You can also change the breaking from neutral, back or front. Generally you want to keep it neutral and personally I use back breaks primarily when tire tread is wearing low. When you create your Career I would suggest going through both days of the young drivers test because your performance in those tests will determine the teams you get to start out with, so doing only the first day you're cheating yourself. Also it looks as if Force India still reigns supreme in the drivers, however Toro Rosso comes in close behind which is the team I drive with and my team mate generally qualifies/finishes in 6-14th position. The starting teams are as follows from best to worst - Force India, Toro Rosso, Williams, Caterham, HRT and Marussia. In closing to anyone who is still reading. The game is more or less like F1 2011 with some changes in my opinion for the best and giving you more control over the car setup mid race. If you're a enthusiast like myself and love the sport I would recommend this, if you're just a casual racer and have F1 2011 then I would stick with that since there isn't a whole lot different from 2011 to 2012.
