F1 2010 is a great entry in the Codemaster's F1 game franchise. I would highly recommend this if you're a true F1 fan.

Formula One games are games of acquired tastes. If you're an F1 fan, then I'll tell you, just pick the game up. If you're new to the sport, then go ahead and pick it up too. F1 2010 is a highly immersive racing simulator. I say that it is a "simulator" due to it's significant degree of difficulty. However, due to a number of assists at your disposal such as traction control, dynamic racing lines, and anti-lock brakes, this difficulty can be blunted, if not completely removed. The career mode is a good start for a game that was a first in Codemaster's F1 franchise. It (keep in mind for 2010) was a highly immersive game placing you in the shoes of your own would-be F1 World Driver's Champion. However, you can't just walk right in and expect to win the title. You have to pick how long you want to race in your career. Your options are three, five, or seven seasons. There is an achievement/trophy for completing all seven years of career, but admittedly, even the most hardcore fans may be burned out by then.
On the track, the cars feel generally good. The game was made with no physicist on the team so car handling is rather dull for you simulation junkies, but novice and casual racers will hardly notice. The tracks look good, with the highlights being the twilight of Abu Dhabi, and the night lights of Singapore. Just because they look good however, you will find that some, if not most, tracks have curbs that will randomly spin the car out. This is a major drawback for almost any player.
That's not all that's wrong. Many of the daylight tracks just look too dark. Even in "clear" weather, tracks like Albert Park in Melbourne look as dark as Abu Dhabi. More problems rear their heads when you realize that even 100% races only require ONE pit stop when they should easily require two or three.
Not all is lost though. The game boosts a magnificent weather system that ranks among the best in video games.
If you're a hardcore simulation racer, I would recommend the PC version for the mods that are issued to enhance the game.
If you're a casual racer or novice racer trying to get into F1, then look no further then F1 2010.
