High Speed

User Rating: 8.3 | F-Zero SNES
F-Zero has now become one of the most successful racing series around. Since 1991 this game has been loved by Nintendo fans. Nowadays you can see lots of futurist racing games, and believe it or not they all drink from the source of this one.

The graphics may not seem impressive but the experience this game presents for every SNES fan is awesome. You will race through lots of nice tracks with some sets of jumps, traps and turns. The scenarios are basically the same at all courses, the only thing that actually changes are the tones of the colors and textures. Maybe all these problems related to graphics are given by the game's high speed machines.

There are 3 different championships each one with some difficulty levels.
Challenge level is pretty good, for you to beat the championships you will need to know all tracks well and have ability to not hit the track's border.

Besides the single player mode there is also a Time Trial where you can try to beat all records and improve your skills. This can add a lot to the game but it doesn't compensate the lack of a Multiplayer mode. It is almost unbelievable that Nintendo didn't put it here, it could make this game so much more fun. Gameplay works well and so does the game's music and sound effects.

So, although not a techincally perfect game, F-Zero brought a new style of racing and many thrills to SNES. It is a good game, maybe not as good as you've been told all this years, but good.
