F-Zero X is a very different racing game involving many quick turns, big jumps, spins, and flips. Its also one of the only racing games I know where you have energy strips to raise your ship's body's energy. Also, theres more selectable ships in this game than any other racing game. Theres a difficulty setting in this game which is a definite plus, and the multitude of options just plain made me giddy.
There are a lot of cheats for this game, and many unlockable features. This alone just made me eager to beat the game over and over again! When I unlocked Black Bull, I used that ship in Time Attack, Practice, Death Race, and even the Grand Prix Mode. That ship is probably the best in the game. The controls in this game were very simple, yet very well placed. If drift right and left was on 'R' and 'L' (respectively) my fingers would be aching. But instead, they considered my convenience by placing them as 'Z' and 'L'.
This game was rather addictive in my opinion, and it keeps you busy for hours on end. One of the good points of the N64 is solely placed on this game. Good job, Nintendo. You're on my top 10.

Seriously, I love the futuristic racing but I had never experienced a game so disappointing. Is better to play Wipeout.

This is my first video at GameSpot and one of my favorites too, because it was the first World Record I got in F-Zero GX at the time I used to play it.Posted Feb 18, 2008
