User Rating: 9 | F-Zero GX GC
F-Zero GX is a hard game and gamers who get easily frustrated will probably best avoid this game. Everyone who doesn't will probably love its hardcore challenge and its tight difficulty curve. But enough about its difficulty. F-Zero GX is a very fun racing game with tight controls that make steering your machine a breeze, across the many diverse and varied race tracks. The game has plenty of modes to keep gamers busy. Firstly there is the Grand Prix which is where you earn tickets which are used to buy machine pieces and other racers. Completing grand prix's are lots of fun and also immensely satisfying such as when you conquer a hard track and come in first place or when you knock out a rival racer. The game also enables you to design your own machine and there is also the typical time attack and vs. modes. However an area where you'll spend a lot of your time on the game is the story mode. Told through very detailed but so cheesy its actually good FMV's, you'll play as Captain Falcon as you complete different missions to progress through the story. The story mode is terrific and again, incredibly satisfying when you conquer a tough mission. Everything adds up to make a highly polished racing game with fantastic graphics and zero framerate hitches no matter how many racers are on screen. F-Zero GX doesn't do anything revolutionary but it does everything so well that it deserves to be held in such high esteem and ranked as not only one of the best racers on Gamecube but also one of the best racers ever made.
