One of the best FPS games I ever played. No modern FPS touches this. The campaign is sooo good. Too bad F.E.A.R 2 was a downgrade in graphics, sound effects, gameplay, and all around everything. FEAR 3 is looking pretty bad so far but not as bad as FEAR 2.

Probably my favourite FPS ever!

Simply an amazing game! back then it was mindblowing! awesome smoke effects, rubble particles.Great graphics overall, great soundline provided by the people from Sierra (RIP). Even now, its still very enjoyable and nice looking. This was the most awesome PC game back then. It's a shame they broke apart and sold the franchise to Warner idiots, which did nothing else but ruin it. Amazing franchise who went down the drain. RIP

This game is awesome , awesome graphics , everything on high , Jason said right , it feels like u are really in the game .. 10/10 rating i would like to give it.

Doom 3 seems mildly unsettling for the first 15 minutes of gameplay. After that, its a standard shooter, much like serious sam. I bet the Ravenholm part of Half Life 2 was scarier than the entire doom 3 game..

I really wanted to love FEAR 2 but in the end, I had to admit it was inferior to the original. Something about the combat in the first game was just way more satisfying. FEAR was a masterpiece that raised the bar for games of its kind. The sequel was merely a good shooter. Then again, FEAR never would have had a chance of being as great as it was had it been designed to accommodate the console systems of its day.

This game was so good. it is a shame fear2 was so different in gameplay and an over all downgrade. FEAR3 does not look good so far.

I just got this on Steam for 10.00 with 2 DLC extras.I hope its good.

This game still hold up after 4 years it's worth a play if for nothing else then the gun fights.

This game was good, I just found it a bit gloomy and the environments got repetitive.

nice game but at about interval 07 it gets kind of lame, replica soldiers voice acting is not that good, your team always gets stuck at the beginning. still its nice to play

Yes, great game, though the plot didn't grab my attention as other games of the same genre did. The AI is very intelligent and the special effects related to the weapon and slowing time are cool. The game is heavily influenced by Half-Life, that's obvious. Not in its story but in the way things are presented.

Dude. This game is 4 years old and it was originally on PC.

Can't see anything special with this game. Why the high score ? I have played a LOT of action games, and this feels just like one more. Boring repitive levels and a toy like flashlight used by special forces ? The AI is good ? Not in my case. The enemies is easy to fool using the standard rush in and pull back move. Just keep duck up and down, and kill a hole platoon. In many ways the game feel like a graphic updateded Half-life 1. The scary part, the tech laboratorys, the special soldiers, and experiments gone wrong. Been there done that. Nothing out of the ordinary. The only cool feature is the Max Payne bullet time, and sometimes the visual joy of seeing the interior flying around. But that is rare, since you always know when something is about to happen, and dont get caught in a trap and have to shoot at anything and everything to survive. The kicking and jumping moves is just plain silly. This is a not Prince of Persia. Cleary something they made for the consol version, and didnt care to remove in the pc version. I give it a hefty 85 % since they have copied all the ok parts from others games into one.

i want this game but my PC would struggle to run it on even the lowest settings, i have a ps3 but the console port seems like nothing compared to the PC version

I don't like how gamespot critic the game for leaving us questioning. it's not a bad thing at all. it's like the X-Files. and X-files is not a bad thing.

I mam playing it, dude, I love the style!!...Very good enviroment and the actions is excelent. The only thing I dont like is the stupid flaslight, it makes you stop and wait until it is recharged. Everything else is great!!!

I am just not playing this game and I love it. It seems they gathered all stereotypical stuff in there and it still works.

The only probalem i have now is that noone hardly plays online with this game :( but the campaign is kick ass! :)
