F.E.A.R 2 is a refreshing title bump up from the original F.E.A.R game but it lacks in some important aspects

Having finished F.E.A.R. a couple of hours before starting F.E.A.R. 2, I was hoping F.E.A.R. 2 would be able to keep the momentum going, sadly I was a little bit disappointed.

F.E.A.R. 2 has astounding graphics and sound effects and if you play with earphones in, you can fully immerse yourself in the game, however, you would not jump out of your seat as much as with F.E.A.R. 1 because of the lack of "fear factor". The AI in F.E.A.R. 2 has been created to manipulate the environment much better and there is also the added feature of also being able to flip tables and so such for cover, which was not possible in F.E.A.R. 1. This for me, made the firefights more fair and fun.

The new look weapons, enemies and graphics saves the title. For example, the shotgun in F.E.A.R. 2 looks less like a hunk of steel and more like a weapon. The creatures that appear in F.E.A.R. 2 look more scary and move very realistically and smoothly.

Another great, "plus point" was that F.E.A.R. 2 gave you the perspective of the ending of F.E.A.R. 1 except in the eyes of those who were not at the blast site. From here, they seam the stories of both F.E.A.R. titles into one and end the game of with a surprising twist.

The biggest letdown though was the lack of fear factor. F.E.A.R. 2 does not raise the hairs on your neck or tense up your muscles in apprehension as the original F.E.A.R. title evn though there are moments when you would get a little shock.

Overall, F.E.A.R. 2 is a title worth playing but you cannot really compare it to its predecessor F.E.A.R. title because the core element that made the F.E.A.R. title formidable is severely lacking in F.E.A.R. 2.
