No matter how old you are, EyePet is a game that should be in everyones PS3 collection.

Anyone who watched E3 2009 will remember when Microsoft announced Project Natal for the 360, we then all said "Hmm, I wonder how Sony will hit back with this?" Well EyePet isn't the direct contender for PN but is a hugely impressive augmented reality game that will keep us happy hopefully until the Playstation Motion Controller comes along.

EyePet is what happens when you let your feral Furby sexually harrass Nintendogs. A monkey, cat, dog mutation thats actually rather cute.

In the game you'll get to look after your pet and slowly unlock more toys and gadgets. The game slowly introduces you to these features gradually with a Live Actor (who is really annoying after a while). This makes the game very rewarding, especially if it's your first time playing it.

The graphics are average. The only real compliment I can give is the pets fur moves and looks very convincing but other than that it's not amazingly good looking. Although the living room behind your pet is very lifelike.

The Artificial Intelligence of your pet isn't quite as deep as i'd have like to have seen, with it repeating noises and animations at the same points like when you first call it or send it off etc etc.

The gameplay is very immersive and although it seems confusing when you read about EyePet on paper, it's very easy to get used to. I found the only trouble was trying to keep the Magic Card facing the camera when using it for feeding or x-raying your pet.

The game at time of writing this review retails for between £15-£20 without camera(But with Magic Card) or £25-£35 with the camera and Magic Card. Also, it's best to have a thick black pen handy for the drawing. I purchased a thick black berol pen and it works a treat

Due to some break of immersion when the pet repeats sounds and animations and due to the fact that I feel the game could have more added to it, i'm awarding it 8.5

A great game that has hours of entertainment, a fair few trophies to unlock and good fun for all ages.
