By now, you've heard all of the Super Bowl XLII storylines. The New England "18-0" Patriots versus the New York "We Don't Lose on the Road" Giants. That other Manning behind center for the Giants going up against the ever-growing legend that is Tom Brady. And on and on and on...But before the big game on February 3, we're here to tackle the question that, up until now, simply hasn't been answered: Who's got the best Madden NFL 08 players: GameSpot or SportsGamer?
Welcome to the GameSpot vs. SportsGamer Super Bowl Showdown where, during the week of January 28, we'll be updating our Super Bowl Showdown page. This will include highlights of Madden 08 games between GameSpot and SportsGamer users, SportsGamer breakdowns of the real-life Super Bowl, blog posts, and user videos--all culminating on Friday, February 1, with a video showdown between GameSpot's Aaron Thomas and SportsGamer's Shanker Srinivasan. Two Madden nerds will enter, but only one will emerge victorious. Stay tuned!

For many people the highlight of the Super Bowl is its commercials. We sent out a call for you to create your own Super Bowl commercial but received only one user submission, which you can view here. Not content to live in a world where the Super Bowl isn't inundated with ads, Brian, Ryan, Vinny, and I took matters into our own hands and made some commercials that put those terrible Sales Genie ads from the real game to shame. If this whole "covering video games for a living" thing doesn't work out we've totally established ourselves as heavy-hitters in the advertising sector. While I highly recommend you watch the entire showdown, you can now watch the commercials on their own without all that pesky football.
Once you're done watching, feel free to share your thoughts on the commercials by voting in the poll to your right or by leaving a comment below. After all, they wouldn't be Super Bowl ads without people discussing which one was their favorite, right?
