In 2065 worlds will collide and war will rage. Time to pick a side.
Get your hands on this free action-packed, multi-player demo of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars and enter the dawn of a hellish new age. Choose to play as the human Global Defense Forces (GDF) or the invading alien menace, the Strogg. Each side has distinct classes, vehicles, and weapons to choose from, giving players countless ways to join the battle.

The marauding Strogg, Cyborg soldiers of the Evil Makron have left the world’s major cities as abandoned smoking rings. The Strogg come in greed - to Stroggify humanity into spare parts and protein food. The GDF must defeat the ravaging alien hordes, or face extinction.

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars will be in stores October 2nd.

Game Details

MISSION-BASED COMBAT: Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars pits teams against each other on a real battlefield, with military-style objectives (e.g. take out a key defense, destroy a target). As a result, everyone always knows where the action is — no more wandering.
DEEP TEAMWORK: With "asymmetrically-designed" classes (10 in total), each team in Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars provides a unique gameplay experience. The GDF and Strogg are two distinct armies with different strategies and tactics. Players are specifically rewarded for working as a team to accomplish objectives.
INDIVIDUAL ROLE-PLAY: Using class-specific capabilities, players can be the linchpin of an entire operation, building a necessary bridge or infiltrating enemy defenses to enable a decisive missile strike. Players protect and revive each other when injured, so they can complete critical tasks for the team.
UPGRADEABLE CAPABILITIES AND STATS: Players earn experience and promotions, and gain new capabilities to help the team. In addition, stats are globally recorded for players to track their rank and prestige in the Enemy Territory community.
MEGATEXTURE TECHNOLOGY: id Software, known for games using cutting-edge technology, has done it again. The revolutionary Megatexture technology allows battlefields to extend to the horizon, with over a square mile of unique terrain at unprecedented detail.

I have Vista 32 Home Basic, and everytime I try to launch the demo, I get an error -- Open GL Driver doesn't support wglChoosePixelFormatARB. Is this a Vista snafu, or the demo? If it's Vista, then this is the last straw, I'm selling my PC and going Mac.

ERMMM!! Dont you guys get it? From Gorge-a-maniac: 'Also have you noticed that the XP and skill-ups you earn get wiped after you quit and load up later on? Must be a demo thing... I dont see any 'save' feature, one would assume its automatic.' It is not a demo thing. This 'option' is actually ripped off from Wolfenstein: ET, once you quick the game, BAMM, the xp is gone, however, like in ET, which there could be XP SAVE(it saves your XP to a certain month/min/hour/day/year/infinite). SO, because this is a demo, it doesnt actually allow you to mod the game to get XP SAVE, thats why... Well, other than that, good game, good graphic, good sound, overall it pretty good. But use this game on a 512 ram computer and whoah, look at his lagg-walk!

i dont see how ppl are saying this is a battlefield 2/2142 clone esp when the complete power of artillery, supply/vehicle drops, and so forth are no longer in the hands of one competent/incompetent commander and are placed in the specific classes. sure the flying controls are retarded but im infantry so i could care less about flying. the rank gainage that happens so fast in the demo...we all know it'll take forever in the retail version. at least in et:qw, you arent once again fighting some middle eastern country with basically the same weapons and tools as the western alliances. the game is a faster pace and you arent running for years until you can find another battle to jump into (granted this is just the demo map). but just remember this....even battlefield 2/2142 is a clone of another fps mmog.........
