closed beta key? i got a key probably because of gamespot which says for open beta on April 20. However, i can't redeem the code cos it gives this message "this account can not be updated at this time" . As far as i researched, its about IP blockage by region. Though, im chosen. I have to somehow.
It's standard MMO fare. Click quest giver NPC, ignore text box, go to designated spot and kill x of y. Nothing actually wrong with it per se, but no way in heck is it worth a sub fee, no sir.
Tera doesn't address any of the major issues with MMO's such as kill stealing. I gave this game a second beta test and it just gets worse. The action combat is more of a problem than a benefit. I found myself accidentally shooting mobs that spawn or walk in front of me while attacking a different mob, and sometimes mine get crossed with other players' mobs. Not good when you take into account the game allows kill stealing. Also not a good thing when your mob is almost dead and you aggro a newly spawned mob when you're low on health. Kiting is impossible with this system. The community is completely useless when asking for help, then again this is the beta, although Aion was the same way and didn't change much later on. They even steal concepts from Aion. Looks like they want to be like that other game. I'm sure they'll get their wish. Play Aion, it's now FREE.
If you can't sort it out on your own, do Tera's community a favor and just play facebook games (^_^)

I've tried this in Chrome and Internet Explorer and nothing happens. Been a GS member for a helluva long time so not sure the problem. Anybody else having issues? it's like the screen just refreshes when I hit register (and yes, I filled out email and clicked the I agree box). Thoughts?

Ahhh nm found the "problem" :P keep forgetting that Gamespot gives Betakeys for US Beta's not EU.... so trying to register it on the EU site dosnt work :P ha ha im an idiot.....
OK already started the closed beta, the game is artistically beautiful to say the least and solid I'm enjoying it, what it bothers me its mechanics are awful familiar with a game I played for years, Ragnarok Online, its the same feel and ideas but with modern tech, and of course different mythology, maybe thats why I'm enjoying it so much since I do love RO.
@dakkafex Oh trust me it doesn't. My usual download speed is >500kb/s, and I'm downloading this patch with less then 70kb/s at the moment. @jhonel83 Same answer goes to you. You people think I'm that stupid that I'm complaining about the speed without knowing my usual parameters? Man... Edit: Well don't wanna bother you people with my problems with DLing of the patch but should say that it caught a better speed now, >400kb/s. ;-) Guess it was a temporary problem with their seeding or something...

I don't know what you boys are complaining about. It is free, and it installs smoothly. Stop looking the gift horse in the mouth: @Jaga_Telesin, I received my activation after 2 minutes from signing. @johncollins80, it's your internet speed, my download is constant over 3mb/s @Snaptrap, really now? You complain you got to try it for free? @dotanpelled, I completely agree with you -restricting a game from certain regions is discrimination and should be descouraged by any means.
What a worthless attempt at beta key giveaways. Enmasse.com site won't send account activation email. Gamespot never sent copy of beta activation key via email. Verified and attempted re-send for Enmasse.com 6 times. I suppose it isn't any great loss, given the rumors that this is going down badly anyhow. Frees up my weekend.

if it will be on at 8:00 PM GMT , then it will take like 2h from now:(. about the speed mine started at 2MB/s and finished at about 8MB/s.
Still Getting the same 8000;0001 Error..its 8pm already ....i just pre-ordered the european version for 4.95e wish their support is better.
What's wrong with download speeds?? I download only 68kb/s, it says it will take more than 3 days to DL it all... I'm DLing it for over 10 hours now and its still on 11%, and the speed is getting lower and lower. So yeah, thanks for the key but i would like to get the game too.
