Best thing since sliced bread

Eve online is a cornicopia of complicated subsets within space genre. You begin as a lone pilot with a small craft hurtling through space running errands for your faction's leadership in a futile attempt to gain recognition and build your reputation. You have few skills and little or no training, yet you press on. Ok... enough

Eve is a very difficult and incredible deep and complex MMO. This is not your World of Warcraft easy mode game. You start off with very few skills and skill points. These determine what ships you can fly, what weapon systems you can use, what sort of profession you will have - mining, trading, mission runner, fighter, scientist, ship builder, etc. There are so many avenues to choose from it will make your head spin, at first.

I have played Eve since 2003. The strong survive and the more skill points you have won't matter if you get caught with your armor down. There are many in Eve who understand the rules of combat and can use them to their advantage. Eve takes time - lots of time, more than WoW, more than Everquest - why? You must train skills - your attributes determine how quickly this will happen. Some skills take 30 days to train. Imagine that, one skill training for an entire month. You can only train one skill at a time.

You train even while you're offline - so that is some consolation. Imagine if you had to be online ...ugh, that would be awful. As it stands its a great system. Many skills at the beginning take a lot less time - minutes to hours to a couple days.

You can hop in and begin to enjoy the wonderful graphics, deep skill system, mining, researching blueprints and building your own ships - or using the market system to make your fortunes. So many things to do just like other MMO's, but much more complex.
