This game is amazing and the visuals are so colourful and dreamy. The characters speak very intelligently about deep issues. They talk about death, war and the complications of multiple parties that all have good solutions fighting amongst themselves. There was a lot of ambition and attention to detail in this game and it is is worth checking it out if your an rpg fan.
This game was okay, but the ending just killed it for me. I would never play this game again.
ive put this off a long time but ive recently decided to start catching up in the rpg genre as of late ive fallen behind, this is next on my list after tales a graces f though i think ill get it on ps3 considering the extra content you get.
I started playing this yesterday, stunning! One of best games I've played in a long time.
I hated this game so much. All you do is battle. The battle system is interesting but it alone can't hold your attention through a 30 hour game. Avoid.
I'm a hater of jrpg's, but this does have beautiful graphics. I played trough the demo on Xbox Live just to check out the awesome visuals.
Had this on my shelf for ages, but with so many blockbuster titles I never found the time to play this. Only just started and I'm ashamed it's taken me so long. This is a brilliant RPG, with so many elements that put recent titles like FF13 to shame. Appears very childish/cheesy at first glance, but let me reassure you it is probably more appealing to a maturer audience. Love it so far and highly recommend!
@pjordan0404 i think 30 hours is short for an RPG, RPG's should take 50 hours or upwards. My girlfriend completted it in 21 hours.

I havent started this game, I bought it for 5 bucks from hollywood video, they were shutting down here and I hid a copy til the last week they were open, hope to start soon. 5 bucks for 30 hours of play, not bad =D. Still working on FFXIII too
I just bought this game for a bargain brice $20 (Australian dollars) from GAME, so far I am really liking it.
Why is it that a game like this can be docked points for being "only" 30 hours long and Modern Warfare gets a get-out-of-jail-free card even though it's campaign is over in roughly six hours?
great game. this is the best jrpg ive played on 360. the visuals are gorgeous, the story is pretty good, and the combat is exciting.
A review that gave the game the credit it deserves. Most people are too stuck up to realise this game isnt preachy but rather a wake up call. Still, Kevin shouldve picked up on how easy the game is.
Been playing this game for 5 hours now and this must be one of the most beautiful games i have ever see! Characters are very funny and adorable (Beat? OMG) I disagree to the ones who say the combat is bad. You have various attacks for each situations, you have the light/dark things, you have the party type and you have the combos too. You want more depth?? The story is very nice but i agree that not having side-quests and the linear path kinda sucks, but definitely a must buy for all rpg fans out there!
I've been playing the game for about 10 hours, and it's great fun. 30 hours is more than enough. The games is also the most beautiful game I've seen.
heh im still playing final fantasy 12, getting all the marks, best weapons, leveling everyone up... they have so many areas in the game that are meant to be done after you beat the game like henne mines... yeah so 30 hours.. linear gameplay.. no sidequests.. no thanks..
Considering I put in at least 300 hours in FF7 before I maxed out all my characters and accomplished everything available in that game I'd say 30 hours is very very short. RPGs used to take months to finish! They used to be so difficult you spend hours fighting random battles to level up. There used to be all kinds of side quests and sub-games and what not. They just don't do that anymore. They're easy, the stories are more simplistic, and they'r a lot more linear. Heck, Fallout 3's "story" only last six hours. WTF!?
I think 30 hours is short. I played Pokemon blue version for 50 hours when I was a kid and still didn't have all 150. Playing Oblivion soaked up a lot more than 30 hours and I gave up after I lost my skeleton key in a field. (I know... that game is different) But working a full time job, a person could beat this in a week or two... Also, I'm not sure if I dig the linear gameplay... no side quests?? Bummer!
Kevin, Kevin, Kevin..... he really needs to stop doin video reviews because, well, Its a GREAT game, so make it sound that way! .... and also 30 hours is NOT short.
30 hours isn't really short. That's perfect length for me, personally. Not too short, and not to the point of being too long.
While the visuals are stunning and the music great along with sweet characters there are issues. Combat... This gets so repetitive, you have your normal attack and up to 4 special attacks, you end up using the most powerful one of them all the time after time after time. you cannot use the special attacks(healing ones) after battles. Also there can be a real problem "dodging" enemies you have beaten time after time.
I recently got it for the PS3 and i have to said that is great and fun, i love the cast (Polka is just to adorable) and that is important in this kind of games, overall great game.
Been playing it for a good 20 hours so far. It really is fun to play. The story's charming with plenty of likeable characters and the plot is quite decent too. It isn't a revolutionary RPG but it does the job quite nicely. Definitely a recommendation.
